I'm probably not the only one feeling some resentment towards my religion and going to church. I just can't really click with them. Matter of fact i don't think I prefer any other religion either. So far being a seventh day advent has'nt made a better person, although i don't believe it should, its completely up to the individual. But I'm just not getting what i want from neither of them.Religion these days seem to be bunch ofrules you should follow or else you'll goto hell, etc. All i want to is become is a better person, not hear where I'm going to end up if i don't do this and that. I don't know, maybe it's me not making an effort....

what are your thoughts?

I don't go to Church. I honestly don't have the time. I am a Lutheran, but I'm not a huge/committed one.

I do believe that as long as you have God in your heart and keep the faith, you're fine. I pray every night too, so that doesn't hurt.

Agreed.

GAH, faith should be a stuggle. You should constantly question and expand your beliefs. Anyone who just accepts what they are told is a simple automaton. The advantage you have is that you live in the information age and there are endless resources available to help you find answers. Just don't lose heart and stop believing in anything. Give it some time. God will find you.

well i don'tthink i have a problem finding god, i just don't really connect with my religion and i don'tthink itshelping me become a better person, should it?

Aren't you a 'youngster' GAH?? I only ask because I know I did most of my religious exploring during my younger days.

At either rate, 49er is right. There is not quick fix-Pokemon-ADD-Dr.Philgood position for studying any religious faith. The 'depth' of fullfillment you're looking for comes with time and/or experience.

Yeah you're a regular Methuselah!!!lol
Seriously, and you don't consider that a youngster? Either way, age is relative, I was really referring to maturity.

i thought you were thinking i was 15 or something.

Of course it should. I suggest you look into some different denominations, styles of worship and/or connect with people in your age group who may be going through similar periods of questioning.

I was born into a Catholic family, I was baptized. But I don't follow or practice religion. I found that, the older I got the less I believed.

I don't follow any strict religion, honestly. I'm religious, don't get me wrong, but, I just choose and pick for myself what I want to believe. I don't let any book or scripture tell me.

I believe in God, I believe in Jesus, I do not believe in what the church has turned into this day and age. Its run like a business with no feeling, or empathy for our world today.

I'm not even getting in this one. :o

You are right this will probably turn into a SCUUURRRRY thread.....I understand that, but it is ok to have different ideas about this subject.....:cwink:

I’ll leave to this, it’s okay to give up. :o

That would be more spirituality.

Spirituality is a persona relationship between man/woman and God, or personal spiritual beliefs, it doesn't necessarily require someone to belong to any denomination or religious sect.
