World Is Wolverine related to Sabretooth and if so,how?

I have long been suspicious of the seeming similarities between Wolverine and his arch-enemy Sabretooth(not least in their powers-ie longevity, fast healing ability and homicidal propensities and the sheer intensity of their feud- kind of like a family quarrel) Are they related( as Nightcrawler is to Mystique) and if so, how?

There's no straight answer.

In some incarnations, they're not related at all - but both may have underwent procedures under the Weapon X program.

In other incarnations, they're half brothers.

In another, they're father and son.

It really is all over the place. In '92 they were really playing with the father/son angle. But since Wolverine's memories and Sabertooth's memories are all a jumble and some fake because of the Weapon X Program they could be father/son, friends with the same powers etc. And then you toss in Origins, and it becomes a possibility that James Howlett/Logan/Wolverine and his half-brother Dog, who in the story doesn't have any mutant abilities, could potentially be Sabertooth because he looks strikingly similar and that includes the costuming choices that Kubert made for him later in the series. And then XO:W took that and decided to make them brothers, without question, who didn't have beef until later in their very long lives.
