never picked up black and white, hopefully the new game fixes the problems

mainly being able to trade with HG/SS before beating the game. hated that feature

also throw my support for a full 3d console version preferable with the multiregion idea

sorry what can i say i'm an original 150 purest

While I like some of the new pokemon...the original 150 are the real pokemon to me...or should I say the true pokemon lol

If they could revisit the original 150 (or 151) with an expansive console game, I might **** my pants. Can you imagine exploring a 3D Kanto region?

I would LOVE a Pokemon MMO for a console. It would just be like the main games, but you get to select which region and travel the others when you beat the respective league. You could choose to be good or evil and customize your player. Of course there would be different side stories and mini-games to keep things interesting with DLC when you win tournaments. I can dream...

and seeing pokemon in the wild would finally feel like actually seeing them in the wild. Not spontaneous yet organized battles.

A Pokemon MMO would be awesome if done right. Weekly Poke-staff run events where Legendaries attack towns. Different Regions as expansion packs. Factions, Team Rocket, and Trainers. Rockets team up to commit crimes, Trainers help NPC Police stop the Rockets.

I always thought of the gameplay being like this when I think of a Poke-MMO (Since I don't know how many buttons the Wii-U will have, using a PS3 controller as an example even tho it'd never appear on a Sony console). 4 attacks like normal, but each bound to a button. Pressing a button shoots it straight ahead, and holding it down let's you aim. So if thunderbolt was bound to X and you tapped X it'd shhot right in front of you, but holding it down would put you in an aiming camera view if you wanted to shoot up, or dow, or where you think your opponent is headed. The camera would be a normal 3rd person view.

Even better if they allowed for strategies like in the anime. Like dodging by aiming hydro pump at the ground, and letting the force push you up. Or freezing the ground with icebeam to make a non ice poke slip.

There's a lot of potential there, but Nintendo seems afraid to stray from the usual formula on consoles...outside of non battle, mini game types like Snap that is.

There hasn't been a Snap game since N64 though, have there? Fading, add to you idea that we can also join the evil teams and work our way up in the ranks or sabotage them for other evil teams!

I think the Hoenn region would be the most interesting one, visually. I still prefer Kanto's pokemon as a whole, but Hoenn is behind Kanto in terms of my favorite pokemon.

There's been a lot of giveaways scheduled in Japan for Hoenn pokemon. Might be a sign that B/W Version 2 will have a Hoenn segment.

I like the idea of a Pokemon console game and/or MMO, but in reality I'm not sure I would. For me so much of the charm of Pokemon comes from the the way it looks. It has this great, sort of nostalgic top-down 16 bit JRPG style to it, and I'm not sure a fully 3D open world game would have the same appeal. But that's just me.

Couldn't they keep that though and just amplify the scale of it all? I think that's what most picture when imagining a Pokemon MMO or at least I do.

The core games will probably, most likely, always be handheld single-player regional adventures, but what's stopping Nintendo from releasing Nintendo from making a console one of the scope of an online, interactive, MMO-ish title; most likely as a side-game? I would surely love that over more Pokemon Colosseum/XD/Battle Revolution bulllcrap.

That's what they should do. A Pokemon console game with Pokemon Stadium-inspired offline modes and a hub world where players can all go to on the web, and from there maybe even go into a solo or multiplayer online story mode.

For art styles there is lots of "REalistic" looking stuff you can find via google and deviant art. The styles that aren't re-colours of prexisting animals don't look half bad.

See now that's something that, as annoying as it is, I feel like they have to keep. I mean, let's say you go into a grassy field and see pokemon, you're obviously going to avoid the types you have already caught, unless you change the way you find pokemon altogether.

I agree. Pokemon works so well, despite how repetitive the games are, because they all play the same way. But the switch to 3D would leave so much up to change, both visually and gameplay wise.

It makes me wonder if they should make a console game that keeps the same 2D visual style. Also, I think the WiiU would be great way to implement the use of both 3D and 2D. Like what you see on the TV could bv a 3D representation of the 2D version, which would be what you see on the controller/tablet.

I got my hands on Pokemon White the other day. Heard it was good and I've been bored lately. I don't know any of these Pokemon though. Any good psychic Pokemon?

I'm playing through Black right now. It's tough because the guys I want to use aren't doing as well as I'd hoped. Only my Excadril is up to par. Still wishing I had a damn Blastoise. :argh:

See that was the same problem I had with Black when I played it. It had been years since I played a Pokemon game, but then I had to learn not just about types again, but also the new group of Pokemon.

There's a bunch of the new guys that I like, but not enough earlier on in the game for a workable team. I've got a major weakness to water at the moment, and it's tough to get around.

I had the same problem with Black. Give me a goddamn Nidoking so I can kick some ass!!! I'm not fond of the new pokemon at all.

I had to constantly look at a guide and an online pokedex to figure out types and moves and stuff. Not to say that I didn't enjoy the game, but things were so much more simpler with just 150 pokemon.

I'm far from one of the 150ers, since a bunch of my favorites come from later generations (and Gold/Silver are my favorite games), but the lack of older Pokémon in the early game hurt my desire to play Black and White for a long while.

I'm with you. It wasn't so much that there were new Pokemon, its that there weren't any old ones. I would have preferred a few older Pokemon to at least anchor me in the new world.

I loved G/S/C too because of that same reason. Because it seemed like a continuation of the R/B/Y world. Heck, you could go back to Kanto in those games. I never played Ruby or Sapphire, but in Black and White, it felt like a different world with the same mechanics.

I will say though, I recently started replaying HeartGold to collect as many Pokemon as I can and imported my LeafGreen collection, but one thing I do miss is the battles with three pokemon.

Since you're playing White, I'd recommend Solosis which evolves in Reuniclus.

i just want a game that allows you to visit all regions, create a character at the start and pick where you live

i guess because my first game was yellow and used to the idea of very little being denied to the players

damn it i want my kanto starters with having to jump through hoops

Yeah Yellow really spoiled it early on by letting you get a trust-worthy Pikachu and the three starters.

But I agree, I would love a game that allows you to travel to every map that has been used in the games.
