not gonna lie but that pic of william h macy startled me as it loaded up lol. How about Alan Ruck for JJJ? Then again i dnt think he has the voice for it. Maybe Matt frewer. Idk, just trying to think out side the box.

I think from the start Stan lee tied to make JJ as big, bombastic, and animated, as Stan is. Only a more negative, heart attack waiting to happen sort of way.
That is how I would like to see him be played. I think if Macy put on some weight, he could pull off JJ so very well. He is a great actor. I also would like JJ to have a sort of gravely voice, he is always portrayed that way
In every cartoon, and movie.

I would rather see Lang play another character... like Chameleon. He would be great. I have seen him use a Russian accent on Law and Order, plus he could be a buff mercenary easily.

But, not to be closed minded, if he let himself become less muscular and acted older (like an out of shape, elder, JJ) then I could see it working too:

He had a scene with Spider-Man in S1, but I agree they should have had more together.

I actually think William Hurt would be a good choice.

More like fight scenes with villains at a party with witnesses watching and Jameson is one of them.

The S1 scene was short, but it felt like a JJ and Spidey scene straight out of the 1960s comics. Him showing up in JJJ's office to fight a villain. JJJ accusing him of being a villain too, and Spidey webbing his face shut.

Scenes of Jameson leaving the Bugle at some points and getting in trouble and Spider-Man saving him would be great.

James Cameron is not directing this movie, more than likely the studio is also gonna want to find a young, fresh director. One possible reason being the cost. Also, have you read Cameron's treatment for spiderman when he was first involved? Its as radical if not more so than Raimi's version. Cameron's script was filled with profanity and had spidey and mary jane having sex.

It will be an entirely new cast.

That's what I always liked about JJ in the comics. He IS over the top and goofy. His ego is bigger than the city and everything revolves around him. I thought Raimi and Simmons nailed this part of the character.

However, I still have a strong spot for Ed Asner voicing him in the 90s animated series.

I'll be fine with a new actor so long as they can pull off Simmons' style for JJ's rants while portraying him in a more "real world" feel if they're going that angle.

It's not like only Ultimate JJ was very serious. 616 Jonah is serious too, he's been turned into comedy relief in the Spider-Man movies and Spectacular Jonah is an even goofier version of Movie Jonah.

jk the film is awesome but it is so awesome it makes other films that were great appear to be less, for example I went back and watched the original spiderman the other day and didnt even get halfway threw it before I lost interest and turned it off, did the same with the directors cut of daredevil and the original xmen all movies I liked when they came out but they just dont hold up when compared against what nolan has accomplished with the comic book genre of films.

I hope the next J. Jonah Jameson has scenes with Spider-Man.

I like the idea of that I would like to see a scene from the ultimate books, where jameson has already started bashing spiderman in the bugle and spiderman stops a mugger or whatever right outside the bugle as jameson is walking out, he see jameson walks up and gets right in his face sounding angry saying hey are you that guy who rights all those editorials about me, and jameson kind of shaking in his boots says yes, spiderman then throws out, love the paper its hilarious, and then jameson and robbie talk for a minute. before jameson passes out.

I loved JK but I don't know if I want JJJ as comic relief any more and one thing that annoyed was robbie is supposed to be assistant editor in chief so hoffman wasn't needed as far as I'm concerned he took screen time away from robbie.

growing up reading robbie, it occured to me he was the only one who liked spidey AND peter.
