J.K. Simmons IS Commissioner Gordon

****, this is the Gordon that donned the bat-mech for a minute ain't it?

You know this whole time we've been lead to believe that Leto's Joker has metal grills because Batman punched his teeth out. But, maybe it was Gordon instead. ;)

"Threaten my daughter will you (punch). Think you're so funny huh (punch)? I'm going to beat you till your brains fall out (punch). Who's laughing now huh clown (punch)?"

(Meanwhile Batman's just standing in a corner shaking his head): "Wow, and I thought that I got rough when I get angry, jeez! I should probably step in and stop this (hears another punch), but then again maybe not. I want no part of angry Commish"

I think "Gym" should be added to the title of the thread.

Of course Snyder's Gordon will probably be tough because he is buff and will be punching a lot of people.

To be fair, he'd hardly be the first version of Gordon to be depicted as capable of holding his own in a fight.

Not sure how legit this is but it's awesome anyway. :funny:

Kudos to J.K. for taking his role seriously. Keep rocking that iron, old fella, and maybe give some pointers to a certain jello-armed SM3 alumnus.

All jokes aside, his triceps are insane.

They look like that because they are leaning on that brass support (the one in his tummy, supported by the blue bands).

But still...

Oh yeah, good catch. Still impressive though.

Looks like he's been taking Venom.

:hehe: So Joker is Jason Todd and Gordon is Bane in this universe.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure he is taking some serious supplements, given his age and the fact that he is not in a profession that requires of him to go to the gym devotedly, but as I already said, it is still very impressive.

Though I must say that I am slightly more impressed by his beard. :p

Simmons already had a strong physique in Whiplash. Seriously, his arms are huge in that movie. I think this is just a natural extension of that.

:funny: Gawd, imagine that.

I know I'm going to be blasted for this but why does Gordon need to be as jacked as Superman? This to me is everything wrong about Snyder's vision. You have an Oscar winner and amazing actor and somehow that's not enough, he has to be unnaturally ripped and muscular.

Well, first of all - he's not as jacked as Superman. Second, and most importantly, he was already in that shape in "Whiplash". On one hand you have people complaining about Gal Gadot's boobs and her being too slim, and on the other hand you have people complaining it's "too muscular". Both are silly non-problems.

As much as JK is in great shape for someone his age, and his triceps are a good size, they are not as big as they appear to be. He's using a bicep curl assist bar, which has an apron like neck wrap, and the bronze looking piece on his chest extends to under his arms to give him the ability to do a quasi-preacher curl while standing. His tris are pressed up against that bar, which is giving the illusion of huge size. Judging by the size of the weights he is lifting in the picture, they can't be over 20 lbs each. Those are small weights.

Regardless, I wanted to write about something else. Gordon has never been a muscular character. Why workout now? Are they going the "Gods among us" route where he is going to take the Superman pill so that he can get into a physical fight? Is that why he needs to look jacked?

That picture of him doing curls looks unnaturally. I'm actually fine with how he looked in Whiplash...he looks much bigger here. I just question why he needs to be working out so heavily for this role. Gordon is always supposed to be older than Wayne, and we know that the Batman in this movie has been around for a long time. So Gordon has to be in his 60s. How many cops, much less police commissioners, do you see being that physically imposing at that age.
