Or they just thought it was a cheesy line?

What was everyone's thought of the nano-blood?

It was weird and unnecessary considering they abandoned it shortly after introducing it.

I liked the film, lots of quintessential Bond moments in it, not as good as CR of course but on par with Skyfall imo, if not better.
I also liked Bautista, he did a lot with as little as he was given and I didn't really have a problem with:

Spectre being behind all of the villains of the previous Craig films, almost a kinda Bond Tradition, as well as Blofeld doing all this evil against his "half brother", also kind of a pulp literature tradition like in Mandrake the Magician etc... I also thought Waltz, who was born to play a Bond villain, didn't disappoint.

^You can set your watch by this guy when it comes to pics of the female form, boy.

always possible.
I just remember that when the line originally leaked people thought it was a set up for Bond 25.
I was hoping that they would cut it, glad that they did .

Bautista has a decent amount of screen time. He is there from Waltz's intro until [blackout]Bond and Swann arrive at Waltz's compound[/blackout]. He only has one line in the entire movie, though.

Waltz had much less screen time than I had anticipated. His appearance at the Spectre table meeting is pretty brief, and he disappears for about 40 minutes to an hour after that.

I'd say it's about 40 minutes into the movie.

When Bond first meets her, she comes across as a self assured woman. Over time, she becomes much more of a damsel in distress. Quite literally, actually, in the finale.

I think that summation is a little bit of a disservice to her character. I think next to Vesper, she's the most strong Bond girls. Yes, she technically becomes a damsel in distress in the finale, but everything up to that point shows her being very strong willed and helps Bond deal with the bad guys.

I'm watching SPECTRE next week with my dad. I got to say, I like all Craig films so far. Casino Royale is still my favorite, and Quantum of Solace might not be great, but it is still pretty good considering it had to follow Casino and also all those writer's strike issues.

It looks beautiful, the action sequences are all very different from one another and what I like about it is that it's... 'hot'. It feels like a hot, sunny movie, and it differentiates itself from the coldness of Skyfall, if that makes any sense. I like that all Bond movies jump from one location to another, and the sunny atmosphere of Quantum is an interesting quality the film has. For some reason I enjoy watching it in contrast to Casino Royale.

It also illustrates the style the Bond movies 'mimic' from each era, and the Bourne movies had a clearly influence on that one. The same way Skyfall is modeled somehow after The Dark Knight. Is interesting to see all those cinematic clues that are not easy to see for everyone.
Anyway, if the next one really is Craig's final Bond, I'd like Campbell to return to the director's chair. After GoldenEye and Casino, he clearly understands the character. If Mendes had to attempts with Craig, why not Campbell?

It was entertaining but I think it could have used another big action scene and also used Monica Bellucci more. I actually wish Swan wasn't in it.

Loved:

- Daniel Craig, of course
- The return of traditional Bond elements yet retaining the established Craig era groundedness
- Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann
- Spectre being an Illuminati-esque organization and ties all of Craig's films together
- All of the nods to the previous Craig films that strongly establish continuity
- The return of the gunbarrel sequence in the beginning of the film
- Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx
- The beautiful opening titles sequence
- The gorgeous cinematography [almost on par with Deakins' on Skyfall]
- Mr. White having an essential part of the plot instead of being brought back for continuity's sake [again, this strongly reinforced continuity]
- Franz Oberhauser having a connection with Bond instead of being someone James Bond has to stop

Hated:

- The reason why Franz Oberhauser has a connection with Bond [Couldn't they have came up with any better reason? Oberhauser is the head of the largest terrorist organization on the planet but is salty as f*** that his daddy loved his foster child and held the grudge for that long?]
- The weak last third of the film [Oberhauser is top s*** but gets that damn sloppy in London?]
- Slight pacing issues

It doesn't help that this film followed Skyfall. I'm still upset over how weak Oberhauser's motive is for hating Bond. If they honestly made him have animosity toward Bond for constantly ruining his plans and costing them time and money, it would have been much better. The personal connection needed to be strongly. It just killed the last third of the film for me.

Rating: 2.5 out of 4 stars or a 7/10

Just saw this, and I honestly thought it was kinda boring overall. I mean sure there were action scenes, and those were exciting. But when I'm more interested in what M, Q, and Moneypenny are up to in a Bond film, somethings wrong. The story just didn't grab me, and I thought the villain was a major let-down as well. He really didn't do much, imo.

I did enjoy Craig as Bond once again, and I loved seeing M, Moneypenny, and Q get a good amount of focus. Also, Dave Bautista was a highlight for me, and the fight on board the train was my favorite action scene in the movie.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I can't even give this film an 8/10. I'm thinking more like a 7ish/10. It wasn't terrible by any means, but nothing really wowed me or stood out. Whereas something like Mission Impossible 5 was full of stand-out awesome moments.

Just got back from this. Wasn't a big fan.
It's not horrible. I just wasnt that interested.

Craig and the cast of course is good. The action is cool for the most part, not as good as some of the other movies, but still good. I also think Writing on the Wall sounded/felt better with the opening sequence. I didnt like it much when I first heard it.

Other than that I didn't like it.
First and foremost I was just bored most of the time. The pacing was way off.
I felt that the villains (Bautista and Waltz) were VERY underused. Especially Waltz. Bautista was the coolest character to me and him and Craig's fight was my favorite action scene I wish there was more of him
In addition to being underused I thought Waltz's character and motivation was silly. [BLACKOUT]I thought the whole Blofield thing was kinda lame too. Well at least how they did it[/BLACKOUT]
The Bond girls were kinda lame to me. Bellucci was underused and they tried too hard with Seydoux. They really tried to push that she was "the one" for Bond but I just didnt buy it  They had chemistry, but I just didn't think it worked. When she told Bond "I Love You" I just scoffed.

Anyway, this isnt terrible but it's biggest sin was being boring to me. And that's honestly my biggest no-no for a movie. Just don't be boring.
We're connected. lol. Those are basically my exact thoughts on the movie.

Yeah, Ethan Hunt definitely spanked James Bond with their recent installments.

Yeah definitely. I even thought Man from U.N.C.L.E. had a better car chase than this did. In Spectre, it felt more like Hinx was just following Bond, not chasing him, if that makes sense.

I really enjoyed it, I don't get the hate.

I loved how Mendes let scenes build. Outside of CR's Vesper/Bond scenes, this was the most human James has felt in the series overall. The film had the feelings of the novels as well...

Other than M's arc in Skyfall, this was more interesting, not so influenced by TDK and curved 'spy-film' tropes a lot.

Only hinderance was no flashbacks to Blofeld making deals/scheming with the previous actors/villains. Plus, I we didn't get enough scenes with Christoph... even though he excelled in all of his.

Hopefully we get a sequel since he is alive still and Miranda made it out alive as well. But, if this is the end... I am satisfied.

I think Fleming would be very proud of these films, which in any order can be ranked from really good to great.

My ranking;

Casino Royale
Spectre
Skyfall
Quantum Of Solace

Wasn't it the same tracking bug they used in Casino Royale? Only this time they added techno-babble to it? I mean both give MI6 Bond's life signs as well.

I don't get the hate either . It seems to be based more off of its relation to Skyfall as opposed to its relation to the 50 odd years worth other of Bond films. Skyfall itself is a divergence from the other films in the cannon , but people act like it's the standard for Bond films, and Spectre has somehow diverted from the standard.

In relation to the other Bond films , Spectre is solid imo. Skyfall is a different animal from all the other films in alot of ways, and is an aberration of what a Bond film is. Had Spectre come before Skyfall I doubt there would be as much hate for it, nor would anyone really raise an eyebrow about it.

They didn't focus on it much or explain it but I really enjoyed the use of the laser listening device during the opening. Those kinds of devices actually exist, using a laser beam to detect disturbances in the air and using the feedback to reconstruct sounds in the room.

A lot of the backlash has less to do with Skyfall and much more to do with Casino Royale which many people saw as a welcome break from a lot of the conventions and problems of past films and many are disappointed to not see those changes stick. A lot of those same complaints were made about Skyfall too but this film quadruples down.

Here's one random thought. I am surprised that we didn't get any nod to Mathis whatsoever. That man did nothing but good things for Bond.

I did also love the "The dead are alive" epigraph in the beginning. By the middle of the film, you realize why Mendes inserted it there.

A lot of people disliked Quantum of Solace as well, it's not like people are just picking on Spectre.

Beyond the fact that it was a mess of a film created under pretty crap circumstances, a lot of people disliked that it completely ditched the traditional elements that even Casino Royale retained, in embryonic form.
