Guardians of the Galaxy James Gunn back to direct

What I really can't wait for is his return to social media...I miss him, just stay away from the political weirdos

I think he should stay off of twitter for a good while. This generation makes a huge fuss when they want to but have very short attention spans if they don't see it on social media.

Agreed. I think GotG3 may even be the introduction of the Silver Surfer potentially. I think the Surfer is going to be one of the first FOX guys, given Adam McKay's very publicly noted interest.
The fact that they're not filming currently might end up being a blessing in disguise. I think Gunn and Feige have both said how much they're fans of the character, so I wouldn't be shocked

Now, what happens post-GOTG 3 is anyone's guess. Because technically he's just a hired director for that particular film. It doesn't necessarily mean he'll be back in the MCU fold afterwards. He might enjoy playing in the DC sandbox after SS2. Who knows. lol At any rate this was a no brainer by Disney and Marvel to rehire let the man shoot his script. Less tension with the cast and PR from the fans.

Seriously, this news has brought me back on board for this movie. My interest when he was fired was low. To the point where I was dreading this movie coming at all. I love the first 2 movies. I adore these characters and I felt like losing Gunn was going to hurt this movie bad. His DNA is all over those movies, and I am grateful he is coming back to finish this trilogy out.

So what are the chances of Rocket Raccoon singing a song alongside Lady Gaga in this?

Although it should really have been in the last film when we found out Quill's parentage. It could've been A StarLord is Born.

Gunn handled all of this perfectly. He immediately took responsibility for himself and never blamed Disney. If he had lashed out against them or played the victim in any way this would have never happened.
Yeah I still fear Drax is a dead man cuz of all Bautista's "F** Disney"s

Bautista will do just fine, regardless. He's now the designated "big scary guy" for any movie now: he's been in James Bond, MCU, now Dune. I have this mental picture of him holding Bob Iger outside a 20-story window by his ankles until Gunn was reinstated.

What happened yesterday?

Interesting that he supposedly has met with Alan Horn several times throughout this process, this has been in the works for quite some time
