Swamp Thing James Wan is bringing Swamp Thing to DC's streaming service!

Watched episode 4 last night, a little delayed due to weekend activities, but I really hop this gets picked up by another network or something, or that WB reverse their decision to cancel it. It's easily one of the better DC shows out there at the moment, especially in that it's fresh, and each episode adds something to the story, rather than filler after filler after filler.

Whoever screwed this up and is at the forefront of why it's being cancelled shouldn't be in their job. Honestly.

I could be wrong, but that seemed to me Alec's original body.
It was explained in the episode that it wasn't.
I don't think so, Alex's body was not ripped appart it was transformed by The Green.
Was it though? I don't know; you'd think his entire body would be a little tough to absorb, especially his bones - although anything is possible in the context of a superhero show like this. I got the impression though that his swamp body is more a manifestation of his being; he's not just Alec, he's also the swamp's essence (as such). He's merged with whatever entity exists as a consciousness within the Swamp, thus having the ability to know things and communicate with plants.

Tht's my take on it anyway. Whether his actual body is there to be found remains a mystery.

You can see in ep 2 or 3 don't remember precisely, that The Green takes over his body (tendrils and stuff going all over him). The show could not spend hours showing the slow transformation of Alex to The Swamp Thing like in the old comics. Now, the result is the same, he has an empathic bond with the swamp.
That being said, maybe there will be an Alex's body laying around in the swamp but I prefer the classic version of Alex being reborn ( or transformed but reborn sounds cooler :p ).

Warner Bros. May Be Developing A Swamp Thing Horror Movie

We Got This Covered has been told that Warner Bros. may be developing a Swamp Thing film. The initial good will around the DC Universe series and the backlash against the cancellation seems to have inspired the studio to consider doing something with the character on the big screen. We’ve been told that this wouldn’t be a continuation of the show, however, and would feature a whole new cast.

Our source previously brought us the news that WB is developing a John Constantine movie as well, potentially starring Colin Farrell as the Hellblazer. If you’re wondering if it’s no coincidence that they’re working on something with two of DC’s supernatural superheroes at the same time, then you’d be right. Apparently, the studio wants to do more with the Justice League Dark team. This doesn’t come as a surprise, either, since a JLD movie has been in development hell for years.

A Swamp Thing film we’re told would be a horror movie, much as you’d expect, with a similar sort of vibe to the series. WB seems interested in expanding the DC universe into horror territory in the near future, too, as an Aquaman spinoff based on the Trench is expected to go in the same direction. It’s worth mentioning that this will be produced by James Wan, who also produced the Swamp Thing TV series. It’s unclear if he’d be involved with the film, but as soon as we learn more, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Normally, I would take what We Got This Covered with a grain of salt, but Bloody Disgusting also heard it too! They did stress it was just chatter at the moment.

There’s a Chance We’ll Get a ‘Swamp Thing’ Movie!

I think if WB did do a film, they should just do a continuation of the series with the cast and crew! They've done a really great job so far!

So the 5th episode was pretty good. Looks like the pace will pick up now. I just hope they can fit whatever they had planned in 5 episodes. We shall see.

I'd gladly welcome a new swampy movie. Yeah I would prefer multiple seasons for this show but I'll never say no for Swamp Thing finally having a new film.

As for this limited series, I hope they're not saving the last episode for Sunderland to meet Swamp Thing

Damn only another 5 episodes left huh? Man I wish this show was longer, but as long as it ends strong I'll be happy.

Derek Mears brought gravitas and emotions as Swamp Thing. I love that he's a non silent actor and provide his own voice for the character. I want to see more of him and Kevin Durand in any drama movie because both of the can be a good versatile actors.

This is a 'Alleged' copy of Doug Liman's Justice Leage Dark script.

I don't know if this is real. I heard people say it is, which is why I took down my original posts, and other's tell me that it isn't.

So as a disclaimer I am only posting this under the assumption that it's fake because it, quite frankly sucks, and is a very poor adaptation of the characters, John Constantine especially.

Did Liman even have a hand in the script at any point? He doesn’t usually write on his films at all.

The ending to this week's episode is so good. Can't wait for next friday!

I've honestly haven't read any Swamp Thing origin stories since I was a snotty little kid in like, mid 70s (and loving it). Hence not being able to compare this TV-version to back then (just vague memories remains; The bad guys made Alec Holland fall in and integrate with that mutated swamp, and he became Swamp Thing. ..Well, something kinda like that..). But this feels like a damn good adaptation.

I'm only a couple of episodes in, but this feels like a great DC TV-show so far. I loved Doom Patrol, and hoping this will keep up as well.

Interesting and kinda refreshing approach that Abby Arcane is the lead character, that the story is from her point of view (at least this far).

The design of Swampy is bloody great!

Also, Virginia Madsen - haven't seen her since eternities (used to be an instant :hmr: reaction when she turned up, and she still looks damn good).

Frakking &#%¤"@$ HELL that they cancelled this. I guess good old Frank already had it figured out way, way back:

This back-and-forth between the Cable fam is cracking me up. "I killed that guy to protect you, because you shot that other guy!" "And I shot that other guy to protect you, because Avery had a file on your dirty dealings!" "And I did those dirty dealings to protect you!" Well, at least they're loyal. :funny:

After that ending, veeery interested to see where next ep goes.

It was a bit ridiculous lol. This episode was thankfully more fast paced than the others. Really interested to see what happens from here.

The Cables seem very messed up. Could see that twist coming a mile away. I wish they did more cuts between Abby & Swamp Thing, than the guy playing Holland. Abby Arcane falls in love with Swamp Thing, not Alex Holland.

Yeah that was a really good episode. I saw the reveal with Matt coming a mile away, but I definitely didn't see the second twist coming. This show is really starting to ramp up.

I see the reverse. She fell in love with Holland and could still love him beside his appearance.

Yeah, the Matt thing wasn't that surprising anymore but the two women collaborating I didn't expect.
