Jason Bourne

Couldn't they have called it something like 'The Bourne Return' or something like that? Makes no sense to stop that branding.

Nah, jmc, Jason Bourne is a perfect title for this.

so far, the ad for the new Bourne movie has been the best film TV spot. got me more excited than Civil War

I'm already excited for Civil War, there is nothing they can do to get me more excited.

Anyway I don't see the Bourne [something or other] as a sacred cow because that crummy Renner movie used it as well. Jason Bourne tells us that Jason Bourne is back, no if and or butts about it.

Honestly I forgot about Legacy when I wrote that post.

I would've preferred something like The Bourne Ascendancy or whatever, but thems the breaks.

All I care about is that we are getting a new movie with Damon and Greengrass back.

I think they partly want to drive home the fact that this is a JASON BOURNE movie and not another diversion film like the that Jeremy Renner one.

I love how they stole the classic Bond line. :hehe:

I liked the TV spot. It looks different from the other films.

I still need to get around to checking the Renner one.

The SB spot was badass, hopefully the non shaky edited to death action will be in the movie as well.

Yeah that movie bombed.
It damn sure didn't succeed.

The denials over that were so hard. Like people thought they could will Legacy into being a success.
276 million worldwide for a film with a 125 million dollar budget and probably what 50 or more million to market worldwide. And it had much worse reviews and the audience didn't like it nearly as much as the first three films. You can't fail much harder than that.

Hmm this is more like the kind of title if this was some sort of franchise reboot or resuscitation like Stallone pulled with his characters.

Maybe The Bourne Legacy freaked out the producers too much and they had to run far from that title motif now?

Legacy was always going to be a disaster waiting to happen.

The Vegas chase with the S.W.A.T. vehicle plowing cars out of the way looks like it came right out of the Fast franchise... I'm down.

Its, funny, I'm noticing this trend with Hollywood where they will have a successful franchise, "end" it, try to continue/reboot it with a new creative team, it fails, and then the studio recoils and brings back the original team for more installments which gets people excited again. It's one of those weird "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" kind of things. 5 years ago I would've told you I was satisfied with the original trilogy but after the Renner misfire and 9 years since Ultimatum, I am AMPED to see Damon back!

Bourne is back!
