Jason Bourne

Great spot! It feels so good to have Bourne back, and Damon looks badass.

The opening fight scene in the spot gave me a Rambo 2 and Hot Shots Part Deux vibe.

I really want to see an Aaron Cross/Alex Cross Cross-Over.

Matt Damon is going to save Matt Damon.
I definitely think that Aaron Cross's Magical Pill Adventure made me appreciate the first 3 films more.

Me too. I wasn't a fan of taking the Bourne franchise into science fiction territory. One of the strengths of the Bourne franchise is that it is grounded in a murky post 9/11 world of espionage that is reasonably grounded in comparison to the Bond and Mission Impossible spy franchises.

Before people shout me out of the thread, I will totally concede that it's WAYYY too early to give any negative opinion about this.

But I just have to say it seems like a more generic action flick a la Mission Impossible. For me, there has always been a theme of the Bourne franchise (Not counting Legacy- I don't even remember that) where he is looking for his, well, identity. This made the franchise unique for me as compared to other similar spy franchises. That's the element I'm missing from that teaser and probably feel they are moving away from that.

Again, I could be gloriously wrong about everything- it's just my honest first opinion.

I understand what you mean, but you should note that this is a Superbowl advertisement - it's not really the place to introduce those ideas.

Do you seriously want another movie where Bourne is looking for his identity? I think it's a really good thing that they are moving forward.

Also, based on what we have heard so far regarding the film (and just understanding Greengrass's filmography), this film will still be very political like the other pictures.

Nicky said it best "Remembering Everything, doesn't mean you know Everything"

that says that their's still more of mystery cover up to unravel

If Aaron Cross returns in a 6th film, they better call it The Bourne Crossover. I will buy that ticket when the first trailer hits on the title alone.

It's too perfect like if a Die Hard film was actually called Old Habits Die Hard.

This looks incredibly badass.

And there you have it. It's a pivotal line that encapsulates Bourne's story moving forward.

How many want to bet that this will go with the trend of vs heroes recently, with CW and BvS.

Prepare for 2018

Bourne v Cross

I don't want Cross eating into Bourne's screen time unless it's Cross being killed in the first 10mins.

No one cares about Aaron Cross, you guys. Let it go; he's never coming back.

You know WHY this movie just called Jason Bourne and not The Bourne Return or Bourne Again or Still Bourne or whatever? It's a way of letting audiences know, "HEY, EVERYONE. JASON BOURNE IS IN THIS MOVIE. AS IN MATT DAMON. HE'S ACTUALLY HERE AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TRY AND HOODWINK YOU INTO THINKING HE SHOWS UP BY SHOWING HIS PICTURE A BUNCH OF TIMES IN THE TRAILER. SO JUST FORGET ABOUT THAT JEREMY RENNER BULLSH** AND GO SEE THIS MOVIE. GOT THAT? GREAT."
