Somehow I don't see them pretending Legacy doesn't exist. I feel like an announcement of Renner's involvement in this one could be imminent. Though, it seems like this announcement wasn't intended to be made yet (Affleck's the one who let it slip first), so it might be a while before they have all their pieces in place to make any official announcements.

renner is definitely gonna be in bourne 5, damon is the question mark. but i hated legacy so much. ugh. didn't it also kinda flop at the box office? shouldn't that tell them something?

Well the article in the top of the post implied that now that Damon has said he's returning, Renner's involvement is in question. What I was saying is I think they are both ultimately going to be in it.

Julia Stiles is set to reprise her role in the next “Bourne Identity” film that will have Matt Damon returning as Jason Bourne and Paul Greengrass attached to direct.


Alicia Vikander is also in talks to join the cast. Sources have told Variety that Viggo Mortensen was holding the offer to play the assassin tracking Bourne but has not confirmed whether he will be joining the cast.


Frank Marshall will return as producer along with Damon, Greengrass and Jeffrey Weiner.


Plot details are unknown at this time, though it’s likely that Stiles will be reprising her role of a former CIA operative who teams up with Bourne.

Damn, Alicia Vikander is busy! Good for her. Just saw Testament of Youth the other day and she was phenomenal in that too. Great actress.

I didn't realize the Justin Lin Bourne movie had been canned, I don't really like Greengrass's direction so I'm meh on this, Viggo would be cool to see as an assassin after Bourne though.

Greengrass made Bourne imo. I enjoy the first one, but Greengrass' two films are all time stuff for me.

Viggo mortenson might finally do a big film again.The bourne films even bourne legacy has tendency to get really good actors.

The quality of the films is why it's good thing damon will only do bourne with Greengrass.

Greengrass and his political views probably suit someone like Viggo Mortensen more than most.
