Jason Bourne

I wouldn't say they hated Aaron Cross or even the movie as a whole.

I'd say it's more "meh-ness" I just don't think people cared or even remember Bourne Legacy.

They can bring him back and I don't think it'll hurt the film in theory

Domestically, it was the lowest grossing film of the entire franchise. It received the worst reviews.

The proof is in the pudding. No Aaron Cross sequel. Matt Damon is back. Need I say more.

I mean IM not denying that it didn't do well, Im just saying I don't think people cared not that it necessarily that they hated the movie. I think most even forgot about it

From what I saw from people, there whole reactions were: "Why do Borune without Jason Bourne" and no one cared to see it not necessarily about the quality of the movie.

I thought it was stupid to make an Aaron Cross sequel but bringing him back for a team up isn't a bad idea. I just don't care if they do or don't do it and I think that people wont care either as long as the quality stays good

If they are going to do anything withDross it won't be this movie, I wouldn't mind him being the bad guy in the next movie though.

How many franchises does Renner need? He's in the MCU and also in Mission Impossible.

Also his Bourne film was forgettable.

He's not the lead in either of those other franchises. And compared to some other actors in Hollywood, that's nothing.

No, bringing him back and having him and Damon team up would NOT hurt the movie. Actually, it'd probably be the best option, best of both worlds and all that.

It still count's he's in two existing franchise's not counting Bourne.

The only other one i can think of is Chris Pratt who's in two at the moment with a potential Indy franchise on the way.

I'd like to see a The Bourne Crossover.

:o

But seriously, the last movie happened. Acknowledge it, bring back Cross as the co-lead, and carry on.

Definitely looking forward to this, the Bourne Trilogy is my second favorite behind only the Dark Knight Trilogy. All 3 of those movies are probably in my Top 20 favorite movies. Hopefully they can come up with another great story, I always worry when a movie Series keeps going like this, that the quality will drop off. For example, obviously Bourne Legacy wasn't in the same league as the original trilogy. Though I do like Bourne Legacy as well, it's a good movie but it just wasn't the same.

I would be in favor of having Aaron Cross be part of this movie, I think there is potential in seeing other Soldiers that were part of these underground special ops teams. I just don't think they really reached that potential with Legacy. Having them team up could be very interesting if they go that route.

Glad to see Greengrass and Damon back though, there is definitely still alot they could do with this Series if they play their cards right.

Cross as a character wasn't the problem, the script and directing were.

Screw Cross and his entire storyline. I have no need to see any of that followed up on. That movie was the epitome of mediocrity.

They should just ignore events of the bourne legacy and set new film 10 years after the Bourne Ultimatum.

Glad this is being made. Legacy absolutely SUCKED.
Just watched Ultimatum. One of the best action movies I have ever seen.
I actually think each Bourne movie (with the exception of Legacy) gets better with each movie and the trilogy ends on a high note with the final movie.

The movie ends well but it isn't the perfect ending of Toy Story 3. There are still Bourne stories to tell.

Legacy was a dud, but I just don't see them ignoring it altogether.

I don't see why they need to bring back Matt, his career has been fine and Ultimatum was a high note for the franchise, but I guess they do need to wash out the stench of Legacy.

And I'm always down for more Greengrass and Damon!

Because this is his franchise. He and Greengrass were always open to doing more. They just needed the right offer and story.

Plus, doing films like this allow Damon more creative freedom to do his art and passion projects.

Except it hasn't. He's of course working regularly, but Damon hasn't had a real hit in the marketplace and with audiences since True Grit (2010) (and Interstellar wasn't marketed with his presence known, so he doesn't get any credit for it).

It's no coincidence that Damon's most recent four projects are all big-budget-spectacle-blockbuster-type endeavors.

In a way, both Damon and Universal need this film for franchise concerns...

And on a personal note, Julia Stiles always deserves more exposure as well...

:word:

Greengrass + Damon = movie magic when it comes to the Bourne character, so it's a good move they're back on the series. Julie Stiles is icing on the cake, we're going to be in for a good ride :)
