90's Aquaman will likely be used because to me it exudes the badass and intimidation feel this casting seems to call upon.

I'm aware. That doesn't mean that he's an even match for Superman, even when he's in his element. Superman is just as powerful underwater as he is on land. He can fly underwater, he can use his super strength and speed and heat vision underwater...I could go on. Aquaman can challenge Superman, especially when underwater, but most likely cannot beat him, even under those circumstances. I don't want to turn this into a "versus" thread, so I'm going to leave it at that.

There is a panel which shows AM's clear advantages in the water, but I'm on my tablet so I can't post it now. Though I agree Superman is powerful even underwater, my point is AM is essentially Neptune, the King of the Sea, so Superman shouldn't and couldn't just hand him his ass on a platter if they are in the water.

That manip posted a couple pages back was perfect. That's exactly what his hair and beard should look like IMO.

Again I'm on my tablet, so I can't post pics, but Momoa already has the right look with the long hair, the scar, the physique, etc. A few tweaks here or there are immaterial in my view.

Jason Statham is also a bad ass actor. But it doesn't make him a great choice for Aquaman.

The deciding factor for me is Snyder. He ie known for his casting, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

If they ignore parts of the classic Aquaman design , I will be hugely disappointed. And YES, the outfit includes the shirt.

Because that's how the character has been portrayed since day one. If you're going to change Aquaman's hair to black, then why not give Superman white hair? You know why, because there would be a huge uproar if you did. Why say it's OK to change Aquaman like that, but not Superman. That's a double standard.

I never understand the freaking issue with the hair. You express your desire that the actor should look like the character he is paid to portray, and people look at you funny. Yet at the same time, it's completely fine to discuss his costume, wanting him to have his classic orange and green look and the chainmail, but the moment you mention something as simple as hair dye, you just demand too much.
