Nah he's Slade at best.

Reininvent the character by turning him into Namor. Well wellAquaman's not been on the big screen before.
As far as I'm concerned they can take a risk and reinvent the character. It might work, it might not.
Mystique scales, then.![]()

Will Marvel's response be to turn Namor into Aquaman later on, then?
1. He looks like NamorWhy do you think they're turning him into Namor?

I'm aware. That doesn't mean that he's an even match for Superman, even when he's in his element. Superman is just as powerful underwater as he is on land. He can fly underwater, he can use his super strength and speed and heat vision underwater...I could go on. Aquaman can challenge Superman, especially when underwater, but most likely cannot beat him, even under those circumstances. I don't want to turn this into a "versus" thread, so I'm going to leave it at that.
That manip posted a couple pages back was perfect. That's exactly what his hair and beard should look like IMO.
Jason Statham is also a bad ass actor. But it doesn't make him a great choice for Aquaman.
If they ignore parts of the classic Aquaman design , I will be hugely disappointed. And YES, the outfit includes the shirt.Seriously, though, I'd like to see them attempt to do his classic costume justice. Just lose the gloves. They've never looked good.
I don't get the appeal of blonde hair. Just leave the actor hair color as is.
And Paul Rudd is really playing Kyle Rayner. What if he's playing Namor for Marvel this entire time?![]()
People are willing to overlook this, because Momoa is so bad ass and tough.Because that's how the character has been portrayed since day one. If you're going to change Aquaman's hair to black, then why not give Superman red hair? You know why, because there would be a huge uproar if you did. Why say it's OK to change Aquaman like that, but not Superman. That's a double standard.
