Justice League Jason Momoa is Arthur Curry/Aquaman - Part 1

:D

Atlantis was a bit dreary I thought but I think that's a hangover from Snyder. Hopefully Wan makes it look better

The leaks seem to indicate that Wan had a minor role in the Aquaman scenes.

“I try to stay the f— away from what people say,” the Aquaman actor tells EW. “Some of my friends said, ‘Justice League isn’t doing well’ and it kind of bummed me out. But I didn’t want to look it up. I don’t want to look up the bad and the negativity. I don’t think that’s useful; it doesn’t help.”

“I’ve seen [Justice League] twice,” Momoa says. “I loved it the second time even more. I’m actually going to watch it again with my kids and my godchild. I’m going to see it with the perfect crowd of people — a regular crowd instead of at a premiere. So I’m excited. You can’t get into the whole ‘why this, why that.’ I went to [Wizard World Austin fan convention] this weekend and got great praise. Now obviously, that’s a positive place, and I’m not only interested in the positive. But if people love what we did with Aquaman, it’s all [director Zack Snyder] — it’s his brainchild. He came in with, ‘I’m going to make Aquaman a badass and I’m going to change stuff, and change the myths about this guy.’ And I busted my ass.”

“The challenging part is [the Justice League story] is only about a weekend in Author Curry’s life,” he says. “[Fans] might be like, ‘Why is he that grumpy? Why’s he hiding up there?’ We had it all planned out. A lot of things got cut. But it’s not my movie. It’s a huge movie introducing three new characters, and for myself and The Flash and Cyborg, there was a lot that was there we just couldn’t get in. It could have been two movies. We had some stuff with William Dafoe. The whole Atlantean part, about me being this reluctant king. There was no need for it because you’re going to see it in Aquaman. It’s not an Aquaman movie, it’s a Justice League movie.”

MY MAN! :P

Really enjoyed himin the role, makes me look forward to his solo movie next year even more

LOVED Aquaman in this! Give me Jason's Aquaman over every incarnation of Aquaman.

When I look at that picture I feel such strong and spiritual connection to Ezra and Henry :funny:

Something for Harle: Jason at the JL premiere party with comics writer Marv Wolfman. Jason, as befits his role, is clearly working to stay well-hydrated.

He was absolutely wasted on that premiere :funny:

but in an adorable "talks way too much and is way too happy" way

Don't know if harle's seen that last one (100% certain), but I still think that's gonna knock her out 'til next week. :funny:

Oh I've seen it :P

Still...don't really need coffee to wake up now :funny:

I think I read on twitter someone saying that the reason why Mera made an air bubble for her an Arthur to talk, is simply because Arthur hasn't mastered how to clearly speak underwater yet (growing up on land, it would make sense); from a technical point of view, you can see Snyder and team not wanting to step on or impose on Wan the "how to" of something that would be minimal in JL but a huge part of Aquaman, which also makes sense.

Does anybody know if there's anything to back that claim or if it's only an educated guess...?? I mean, it makes sense to me, so it's part of my head canon now :oldrazz:

Also, based on reactions to the portrayal, it confirms to me what I've been feeling from the beginning; Jason will redefine Aquaman in pop culture and influence the character in the comics the same way RDJ did with Iron Man.

I've a question; in the movie we see Arthur use a 5-proned trident (quindent?), the same as the one Aquaman started using as his main weapon in the New52 comics, but I just realized that in Rebirth, Aquaman uses a different trident, an actual 3-proned one; is that supposed to be a different one or the same one just reimagined by different artists?? Also, Jason alluded to there being a different trident in the Aquaman movie; does that mean that the one he's using now is not THE Aquaman trident and they're following the comics in that regard???

Anyone savvy on trident matters willing to answer, it'd be quite appreciated :D

From that scene with Atlanteans showing (maybe) ATLAN he had a 3-proned "fishing-fork" or the so called TRIdent:

I thought she was trying to stop him to have a conversation with him, he couldn't leave that bubble

It already happened. Erotic fanfics about that character would be unthinkable till recently and I already *accidentally* saw some of that filth happening

Per MomoWOAH - "He's not a king yet, so he is not using the trident"

Atlan (Aquaman's father) has the Trident, which is the trident of Poseidon (Greek god of seas, Romans called him Neptune.) That trident has magical properties.

Only King of Atlantis can have it. Since Aquman is not a King, he is having a pentadent.

Pretty sure king Atlan isn't Aquaman's father. :oldrazz:
