The Shark doesn't look that big there.....

The Shark doesn't look that big there.....

It's about a realistic maximum size in this shot, assuming that the human in the photo is actually close enough to the shark to make that judgement. (It's probably still oversized, though.) That said, unless there's multiple sharks in the film, some of the other shots from the trailer (not including the title card) make it much bigger than this.

I like to think that diver is playing one hell of a game of Pokémon go

Maybe it’s a baby? I mean what are the chances there’s only one?

Of course, there is a baby, we have to set up that sequel!

For those who have read the book:

This has to be Jonas' ex-wife in the tube right? This is the point where she was trying to get the big story and ended up getting chomped to bits.

Maybe. The movie and the book have some big differences in the story.

To me it looks about as big as Megalodon are estimated to have been when they existed.

looks ok to me, comparable to a humpback roughly.
Don't get me wrong, it look big, but if you watch the trailer again, the shot of it in the picture with that diver makes it look smaller, so either there' more than one, or, more likely than not, the size of the Shark throughout the film will not be consistent.

So basically we are talking like a shark that's the size of a whale basically, right? Or slightly larger than the average whale.

I just hope Jurassic World isn't going to steal all this movie's thunder with the Mosasaur eating everyone.

You mean like a curly sue situation where Jason adopts a baby megaladon and has to care for it and find a girlfriend at the same time? Because I would watch that

I doubt it will take up too much time on the screen. Their mutant dinosaur hybrid is the big thing. Afterall, genetic engineering is only used to create monsterous evil hybrid creatures that want to eat us all.

(can you tell I'm eyerolling at yet another tired "genetic engineering is bad" trope in this movie franchise yet?)

This just illustrates the faulty premise of the movie.

A 60ft shark isn't anymore scary than a 20ft shark. It can only do the same thing to you, which is eat you.

Wider Mouth, bigger chunks, theoretically speaking of course.
