Jason Statham to take on Meg

"You mean we talking about some damn shark's mutha?"

(and thats Jaws 3D now represented also :woot:)

How good is that flick tho. So good.

Dolphin rescue ftw. Maybe that’s how they will defeat the meg? Just get a United team of sperm whales together to kick its ass. Moby dick could be their captain America

I have a lot of time for Jaws 3D - hokey as it is in parts its wonderfully retro [in a good way] and I love Alan Parkers theme.

Probably would be better than the spectacularly over-the-top ending I vaguely remember the novel had. Although that ending probably fits an actor like Jason Statham...

Have you seen jaws the revenge? It’s ace. A guy gets his arm bitten off in the first act! Could you imagine, it’s mental

I'm not exactly a fan of Revenge, to be fair.

Seans death is great and is the best scene of the whole movie for me but I feel that it sadly goes downhill from there, what with the shark looking more fake than it ever did, it roaring like a lion, it being outswam by Michael Caine and it being 'sensed' by Ellen because it has a personal vendetta against the Brody family.

Boss. Someone try and tell me that wouldn't be scary.

EDIT: just noticed the rope around it.

Well is the Shark Huge Enough for you Guys or is he still too Small ?

Forget about its size, that shark has 8 gills. Modern sharks never have more than 7 (the species with the highest number of gills is the sevengill shark). I wonder if that's a mistake or if they did it intentionally.

Yes, I know, I'm a nerd.

It doesn't really matter too much since they can just as easily write it off as it aquired extra gills to deal with the extreme depths it now lives at. Which ignores a plethora of other "why didn't it then" questions but then this isn't a realistic movie either.

Well nobody ever seen a Living Megalodon so who knows how many Gills the Species actually has

*snort laugh* I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder.

They named a shark with seven gills the 'sevengill' shark?

I don't know whether that's genius in its simplicity or just plain lazy, tbh.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed.

This makes me want to hate watch this more. All the silly stuff and then they try to have one inspired scientific aspect of their design.

Like that puny rope will hold him back.

I was more wondering how they got the rope around it in the first place.

Well there's actually two species, the broadnose and the bluntnose. Innovative naming.

Plot twist.

(It's funny because Megalodon is a genus of extinct clam, while Otodus/Carcharocles megalodon is the shark. (Commonly Carcharocles, but a recent study concluded that Otodus might be a more appropriate genus name based on new understanding of that branch of the shark family tree.)

(One of those dinosaur Roblox games actually trolled their community with this; the game only includes creatures from the Mesozoic (dinosaur time) and everyone was asking for megalodon the shark to be added even though the animal isn't from the Mesozoic, so they ended up adding the clam (which is from the Mesozoic) to everyone's dismay.)

This honestly looks so bad it could be good.

Looks like Megashark levels of cheesiness lol which is what I think movies like this need to do not take themselves to seriously.

Saw the trailer in IMAX today; suffice to say it looks even better on that big ol' screen.
