considering he's never done a true space movie, i've got one he'd be PERFECT for....at least as co-producer (along with his buddy Peter Jackson)....

...HALO!!!

Nah man... I don't play the games but nothing trivial of that such... again we really don't need man eating monsters and aliens... I was thinking along the lines of 2001... but then again... what is there that hasn't been done already?

Rest easy Jaws fans...

There is NOTHING about this remake on Spielbergfilms.com and I know Steve Awalt is in the loop with upcoming Spielberg related news. He laughed when I mentioned this to him. He couldn't guarantee that it was not happening but he could guarantee that he'd know about it before some poster on a super hero message board.

There is also NOTHING in any of the Yahoo or Google searches.

I am willing to say that this rumor is that and NOTHING more.

^ that my choices lets see yours

Well, if we are just pretending...

Sean Connery (if wasn't retired) for Quint
Ed Norton for Hooper

And ugh I can't think of anyone for Brody, unless I switch Norton and make him Brody and just make someone else for Hooper.

But this remake ends about 2 minutes into the movie and in a surprise twist we see the characters are merely recreating the movie after going out and getting toasted. Then they proceed to watch the real Jaws....:hyper:

While I don't like the idea of a Jaws remake I wouldn't mind another adaptation of the book but only if it was just like the book (which honestly wouldnt be too hard)

I'd actually love a new Jaws sequel. Hell, if they can still crank out new editions of Friday the 13th and whatnot, why not Jaws. Get a decent director, an interesting angle and voila.

Oh, and get Michael Caine back as Hoagie the pilot. Bloody hell, indeed!

Just please not a DTDVD Jaws movie like the one that is rumoured to happen at some point.

The book is fairly good, but the movie (along with the chanages the film brought) was in many ways superior, IMO. I.E. Hooper not having an affair with Brody's wife. Hooper not becoming shark food. Ignoring the whole Mafia subplot. The fact that the shark and Quint's death were not very much akin to Moby Dick. Ect ect.

As far as a remake goes? I've never been too hot on that idea. As there isnt a whole hell of alot to actually improve on, outside of effects. Preferably, I would much rather the franchise go out with a bang with Scheider, and Dreyfuss returning (yeah ignore 3 & 4, which wouldnt be hard for anyone including Universal) to give the series a well deserved closure much like the Rocky films saw with last years, Rocky Balboa.

Its only a matter of time before every movie Speilberg has done guns are replaced with Walkie Talkies :wow:

haha
Ok, this is my favorite movie of all time so this is serious.
Well they CANNNOT remake Jaws. There are lots of bad shark movies out there...some of them are Jaws sequels. Speilberg's brave film making of his younger years is what made that movie so special..and it can't be reproduced.

And it's funny how much of a sissy he has become especially where Jaws is concerned.

Someone seriously needs to pull him aside and give him a talking to just like in that south park episode.

It doesn't need to be an exact remake of the movie. It was based on a book after all.

So....even Spielberg is out of ideas?

A lot of his movies are based on novels or real life events, so he's never been one of the most original directors. A good director (most of the time), but certainly not original

As for a Jaws remake (if it happens...)... Can't say I'm surprised, and I really don't care.

People this is obviously fake.

Don't worry.

Bryan Singer was approached like a year ago and asked if he would do a Jaws remake. He said that he couldn't do it cause Steven Speilberg is his idol.

WHAT!? They can't it's like remaking Star Wars or E.T.! Spielberg's gonna f**** up his first classic! ARRRRRGH!

I have always said this is the one remake I would actually welcome because the effects in the original are so crap.

Don't get me wrong I hate 99% of remakes, but I think this is one of the few films that actually warrants a remake.

All of these negative thoughts were thought by me when a sequel to 28 days later was conceived. But look at how well that turned out.
