Jaws Remake In The Works :(

They should remake JAWS 2 in that they should pretend there was only one Jaws movie and make a sequel to it.

Bryan Singer was approached like a year ago and asked if he would do a Jaws remake. He said that he couldn't do it cause Steven Speilberg is his idol.

And this is his favorite movie from what I understand.

All of these negative thoughts were thought by me when a sequel to 28 days later was conceived. But look at how well that turned out.

That film was never really a sequel per say.
It was the second in a planned trilogy.
Like Star Wars.

But 28DL didn't have two crappy sequels though.

Noooo! It's gonna be like that Robot Chicken sketch but real! :(

No source? Pfft. Next!

I wouldn't mind seeing Toho remake Jaws, though. :oldrazz:

Ok, I am ALL FOR REMAKES!....I've been open to about 90% of all remakes, past and present and future.

But this one has to be in that 10%. I have no idea where someone had the idea that a movie like Jaws needs a modern update. I don't get it. The storyline in Jaws is extremely simple and plain and not too interesting. What makes this movie is the directing, the acting, and the music! Now, if they remake this movie, I fear that either there's gonna be a lot of changes being made or it'll end up being something like the ever-so common CGI monster movies that we were used to in the mid and late 90's.

But,....What we need to keep in mind is that Spielberg is going to have writing credit, so maybe he has some strange, new ideas in mind. I hope that he does.

Yeah like the shark gets captured by the government and given hi-tech wepons and is trained to take on terrorists.:whatever:

My choices for actors to play the parts:
Police Chief Martin Brody-Bill Paxton
Quint-Bill Moseley or Billy Bob Thorton
Matt Hooper-Anthony Hopkins

And throw in a new female character to go out on the boat with the three guys...

i still say that was the best idea for Jurassic Park IV

Jaws REMAKE?!

Honestly, I don't think a Jaws-movie could work today, with the better knowledge we have about sharks. Even the author of the novel, Peter Benchley, once said that he would never had written that book if he had had the same knowledge about sharks back then as he had later in his life.

I think that is mostly because he villianized an animal, and feels like it has caused a lot of harm to a species. Honestly, I feel the opposite. I think in the long run, it has sparked people's fascination with sharks which opens the door to them learning more about them.

To many remakes and sequels nowadays. Not saying its a bad thing it's just that there are chances it will turn out bad.

yea, megalodon needs to be made, and not as a corny movie. a 2-hour scary movie, not horror, but tense

and i could see a jaws remake movie being made if it was BASED back in the same year that the first one was. as much as i like the original, i would definetly see a remake because with that idea and the possibilities of a more fearsome and believable shark would be so awesome to see. but they need to keep him dead this time.
it's a good story and just because they remake halloween, friday the 13th, or any other movies that were good for what they were, with todays camera work, computer graphics and possibilites for this kind of movie, it would be good. i think spielberg would have to be involved in some way.

now if they remake ET then HELL NO, that works good exactly how it is. jaws could use a tune-up

Jaws is perfect the way it is.

New Line dropped rights to MEG.

This I am happy with only because Jan De Bont was going to direct. Meg deserves a director like James Cameron. The novels were amazing and I can easily see a money making franchise.

75 foot prehistoric great white...how can you go wrong?
