I am sure people hate the idea of messing with a classic. I also know that some view 3D as only a gimmick. I have to say though putting these two elements together would freak the gills out of me. Imagine seeing a giant shark getting closer and closer, like it will bite your head off

I guess they could make a totally different shark movie in 3D as well. I just think JAWS is a great property to use and a little nostalgia can actually be good.

You're delusional. I mean, come on, it's a GIANT MAN-EATING MONSTER SHARK!!! The people are just there to be eaten! I still don't know why they even gave them names, nobody cares about that. Also, it needs to eat more people in the remake, and not just eat them, but tear them apart in FULL VIEW of the audience! How else would you scare people? By hiding the shark at every opportunity? That's stupid and that won't work at all. Also, the shark was too quiet the last time they made this, they should give him a real nasty ROAR!

Oh, and cast better looking people so you can throw in the sex scene between Hooper and Sheriff Brody's wife, that way we can make it more accurate to the book so the old fans don't complain.

I prefer Quints end on film compared to the book.

Question been awhile since I read it, but wasn't Chief Brody description in the book alot different than Roy?

The book sucked. The fact that we got a classic film out of the adaption shows that changing things from the source material isn't always a bad thing if you do it right.

That is the usual response/attitude of a remake. I don't think it's a big deal though, that's just me. I welcome a different take building from a classic. Even if it is not as good, nice to see modernization to an old film.

I'm sick of remakes and most likely won't waste my time on this one.

On a similar note, the old school two screen theatre in my town has been showing older films for the past couple of years and my gf and I have tickets to see the original Jaws tonight.

I've seen this movie dooozens of times but this will be the first time on the big screen.

Now a remake i don't think should be done but maybe a sequel.

It's a giant exercise in futility. Just re-release the original to theaters if you want a quick cash grab. post convert it if you must, it'll be cheaper than making some half-assed remake.

This is a giant joke because there's no winning. There's no living filmmaker worth a damn who would elect to remake Jaws. So the second a filmmaker is announced, we'll instantly know he's either a hack gun for hire or just an idiot.
