Jaws Remake In The Works :(

For christ sake..

When will Hollywood ****ing learn..

Ten bucks says the shark is much bigger, you see it earlier, and it will kill many more people.

Your right.

See the thing that made Jaws scary back in the day was that ppl scared easier. Now days we've just about seen everything possibly scary out there. My eight year old son laughs at some of the movies that used to scare the crap out of me back when i was his age.

Ppl are so used to violence these days, that horror doesn't mean what it used to anymore. We see it everyday on the news; hell, you can get just as equal thrill walking to working, and seeing some crazy **** on the street.

This movie won't work the way it did all those years ago.....

The basic story of the novel is so outdated now written before we knew much about sharks. Or as Peter Benchley himself once said:

"Knowing what I know now, I could never write that book today," said Benchley, who also co-wrote the screenplay for "Jaws." "Sharks don't target human beings, and they certainly don't hold grudges."

Making a movie out of this story is probably the last thing the world needs. At least the sharks of the world. Imagine if somebody decided to remake one of those old westerns where indians are depicted as some wild, primitive people only interested in killing.

The source sounds like it's made up. Who could be stupid to remake one of the greatest films of all time? Jaws is a perfect film, to revisit it would be asinine and no one is that stupid it'd be like remaking Psych--o....****.

this was debunked by Tracy Morgan himself. it's not true. it's too absurd to be true so I don't know why anyone would believe in it. Tracy Morgan?

seriously, it was embarrassing for cinema blend.com to even consider it legit news because it's absurdly fake that's it not even funny. katey rich is the only good writer there.

I think "Jaws" should probably be left alone, but not for the same reasons as most everyone else...I just don't think Hollywood TODAY is capable of remaking it into anything even half as decent as the original film was. And if people wanted to sit through a cheesy shark flick - which is what such a remake would likely end up being - why go out and pay to see such a thing when you can watch essentially the same thing on SyFy on any given weekend for free?

With tons of 'Jaws' rip-offs why bother remaking a classic? we've already got Dinoshark, Dinocroc, Sharktopus, Megashark, Sharks In Venice.

Aha yeah I made a thread about this last year and there was a "failed attempt" at a viral campaign.

Lemme see if i can find the old viral on youtube somewhere.

I hope this falls through.

Jaws does not need remade.

How about Hollywood try the novel experience of actually creating something new? It seems all they've been doing lately is remaking movies that didn't need remade in the first place.

I don't think Jaws would even work these days. The whole perception of sharks has changed since the 70s. I was at Cambridge, Massachussetts this past September when there were sharks showing up and there were tourists coming from all around to see them. People love sharks now. It is the complete opposite of what happened in the original film.

I will cry if this is true.

Ever since that accident at Sea World people are now afraid of dolphins.

Yet another bad idea, in a string of bad ideas by the powers that be. What nexts, remake ET....?

Well Spielberg said today's audience was too cynical or just in different mindset for something like ET to work today. I'm sure it's only a matter of time though but it won't surpass the original.

"We ARE going to SURVIVE!"

That was hilarious. Though that movie is kind of a guilty pleasure.

I mean just the thought ofa shark leaping out of the water and eating Samual L. Jackson is hilarious.

I'm curious by some of the comments here that some people didn't actually read the article. because it's the fakest article on earth.
