I was thinking much the same thing watching that news clip. Though weirdly they all seemed to treat it as just a laugh, which I thought was a bit strange for a news show. When they turned it over to the on the spot reporter I started getting a similar impression to the Daily Show when they do their pretend on the spot reporter bit.

He wound up with a black eye and needed a few stitches, and he was very lucky that it wasn't worse. But he did wind up finishing the interview and even singing at the end of the show, so at that point it was ok enough for the news shows to joke about it. Hugh even joked during the interview that Bono was originally supposed to do the zipline stunt but they couldn't afford the insurance.

I'm guessing a bookend of sorts. It will probably have him leave America in the beginning and have him return once his journey is over. We could possibly see the X-mansion if that's the case.

I think Jean Grey's cameo scene is just a flashback or a dream sequence. Famke looks good in the tweazer, her look is very similar to her look in X3. While Hugh Jackman looks completely different compare to his look in X3!

Glad there's a separate thread about this... I just read the entire thread and a lot of you bring up some interesting stuff when it comes to speculating.

I hope in some way, her cameo ties in with DOFP... but I doubt it. As much as I want more of her... it hurts to realize that it'll be nothing more than just a dream or flashback...judging by the trailer. *sighs*

but I still love Famke's portrayal of Jean. Always will. The first half of X3 was great while the rest was...utter crap.

I was hoping for just a Wolverine story with no ties to the rest of the messed up Fox universe.

And I'm glad it does tie in, making a seamless series of X-Men movies that can all be watched together in a continuous timeline.

It looks like it will be little more than a dream, but I'm wondering if it will be a normal dream stemming from Wolverine's guilt or a hallucination because he's wacked out on Viper's toxins.

I hope its a little more than just a dream.... Im actually surprised we got a glimpse of Jean in the trailer. you'd think they'd save that as a surprise or something for the movie when it comes out.

Maybe it's there because it was such a badly kept secret or to emphasis that it's not one of the film's bigger secrets and they felt comfortable dispelling some of the speculation that surrounded the rumour.

Hmmm, after reading Hugh Jackman's latest interview with MTV. Jean Grey's role in this movie could be more than a cameo. A cameo is just 1 scene so Jean Grey might appear in this movie twice or more.

I think she plays a big role in spirit not in person. Obviously she is responsible for alot of Logan's internal conflict.

Logan will have a new love interest who will be the focus and get Logan to move past all the Jean stuff. No reason for Jean except for showing the consequences of X3 on Logan.

I think they have always planned to reveal Jean in some of the advertising. They probably revealed her so early (in the tweaser to the teaser!) because they wanted to get any buzz/discussion of her appearance out of the way before the real marketing for the film began. Her appearance adds a bit of intrigue to the film and marketers love playing up any romance angle they can in trailers because they think it appeals to female audiences.

Yup! But I don't think it will be enough if its just a hallucination from Viper's poison. There has to be more than that.
