Jeffrey Wright IS Commissioner Gordon

I haven't seen anything confirmed. Has it been?

The casting news thus far has me thinking about this old image of "Ultimate Batman" that was published in Wizard Magazine back in the early 2000s (man I feel old...) I included an image of both Pattinson and Wright to show the similarities in appearance. (Not saying this was deliberate, just pointing it out)

Overall, I like this choice for Gordon. I think he'll do a great job.
This.... this is perfect.

Is that supposed to be Brad Pitt as Batman and Morgan Freeman as Gordon?

Yeah, back in the day, it was supposed to be Freeman. Not sure about Bruce

How predictably Hollywood...

That guy is a time traveler
If the suit ends up looking anything like in the picture... *cue Twilight Zone music*

Honestly as someone who gets annoyed by the constant pressure put on by a very vocal minority to race/gender swap every popular character (007, Indiana Jones, Superman, etc) I have no problem with this casting at all. I like the actor and think he'll be great.

If you're a BoJack Horseman person, you've heard him.

So I’m late to the game so forgive me if this is common knowledge, but does this mean this version of Batman isn’t a prequel to Affleck’s since Gordon is being race swapped? I have no problem with Wright but obviously he’s not the traditional Gordon we are used to.

Yeah, this is great casting. Wright is awesome on Westworld and in pretty much everything else so I can't wait to see what he does as Gordon.

Were people still thinking this was a Batfleck prequel? I thought that, outside of a few crazy conspiracy theorists on Twitter who were thinking that Reeves was going to be fired and Pattinson would be replaced by Affleck at the last minute, people had finally moved on from that idea and accepted that the Bombfleck Era was over.

I thought it was still part of the DCEU and not a one off like Joker.

Not looking that way. It’s looking more and more like a complete reboot... which, for folks like me who thought Snyder did an appalling job, it’s obviously a good thing. However, WB should probably clarify things a little at this stage. Draw a line under it. This casting very much suggests it’s a totally fresh take.

I was looking forward to Westworld season 3 anyway, but even more so now!

Wright is a great actor, and has kind of been underrated for a long time. He's gonna kill it as Gordon.

I like Jeffrey Wright. Dude is a solid actor and love his work on Boardwalk Empire and Westworld

I just can’t see him as Gordon though. Always thought he’d make an awesome Hugo Strange though

Anybody else think we might get some Morgan Freeman Se7en esque vibes from Gordon in this? I love the idea.
Could be, since Reeves is going for film noir influences...
