Jeremy Renner in talks to play Hawkeye!

if people want goggles then they should just have them be lenses that come down from his mask like in the Dark Knight. keep his regular mask and just have night vision/thermal lenses when needed

Character profile:

Clint Barton is a SHIELD agent directly under Nick Fury's orders. He's an talented marksman. Everything becomes a weapon in his hands, from guns to fingernails. His favorite weapons are his bow and his arrows, which he equips with special tricks, such as explosives, tracking devices, sonic devices, light bombs and others. Because of his habilities, his co-workers usually call him "Hawkeye", altough he's not a big fan of the name. He's also a talented hand-to-hand fighter and is usually very hot-headed, always making sure his opinion is heard. He's not a big fan of having to follow the orders of Captain America, whom he considers too old-fashioned to get the job properly done, altough he has a very well-hidden admiration for him and the other Avengers.

What do you think? :yay:

Reposted so you can see it better. :cwink:

I like that too. I see a lot of archers wear that. I don't know what it's called. Is it some kind of chest protection? I think it would be cool if his costume would incorporate some archer gear like the House of M costume does.

I wonder if he'll have an actual bow or some kind of cool device that'll turn into a bow (think Blade III)

I could imagine something like that. Green Arrow on Smallville has that kind of bow too.

Ugh.. stop bringing Smallville to the conversation! :hehe:

Hey, you asked. It wouldn't be farfetched if he'd get some hightech bow if he's part of Shield.

And let's stay away from the "Super Realistic" ****. This is a fantasy movie people. Let's keep it that way.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

Realistic or not, his classic costume and mask still look lame.

Leterrier's Hulk s**t all over realistic (and good).

They were setting up The Avengers when they did Iron Man, so "realistic" can get the **** out of this conversation and dont blame it on TIH.

Which I'll stick to. And I don't need to hear that I want everything Ultimate because I don't want one hero to run around in Carnival garb.

Yeah, I'm already tired of the conversation. You have your opinion, I have mine. So this is getting us nowhere and I'll end it right here.

You know you shouldn't care about the opinion of some guy who posed as a teenage girl in a forum.

Actually I posed as a 30 something woman. Get it right.

And heaven forbid Hawkeye be Hawkeye.

But I guess I should expect this sort of thing from Batfans.

Wow that's sad

Judging by descriptions I've read, goddamn, Hawkeye sounds like a ****ing badass.

The issue for me is finding a design that doesn't look too similar to what Captain America might wear, and also finding a design that doesn't deviate too far from the character. Clint's costume has to be flexible, agile, sleek, but intricate enough to where he doesn't look like a schmuck standing next to Iron Man or Thor. I think we all agree his classic look just won't do, but that doesn't mean we should shy away from something a bit more fantastic.

Clint does tend to do more crazy s*** while he's shooting. I would've given him the edge in hand-to-hand combat as well, but then Winick made Ollie a ninja for no particular reason.

Just like Bendis did with Clint! :awesome:

As long as theres a substantial amount of purple dont care what shade and some semblance of a mask ill be happy. but please no black leather without a mask ala xmen and definately no guns.
