Jessica Jones Jessica Jones General Discussion Thread - Part 2

Really hope to see a new big bad next season. Preferably Denny Haynes since Jessica lacks any other real options for villains.

Make Trish become Hellcat at the beginning and then fill in for Mattie Franklin's role in the comics.

Turn Pryce Cheng into Paladin, complete with the costume. He fits the character's background perfectly and have him use Paul Denning as an alias.

Give Jessica the Jewel costume in the finale since she's rescuing Trish who's now kept as a prisoner, hopped up on drugs and being abused in a number of ways by Haynes.

Contrary to popular opinion, I really liked Trish’s character development. Granted she came off as very selfish, but she came into her own character instead of being Jessica’s B.F.F.. I’m also hopeful that we’ll see Hellcat for season 3.

i gotta agree on trish. yes she's brash and selfish.. but that's also a very human trait.. and it was still very much progression

Yeah, a lot of people hate her because she made everything worse for Jessica in season 2 (which is true), but she’s also got me excited about season 3. It’ll be interesting to see Jessica & Trish having drama with both of them having superpowers.

This is a good show. Season 2 was not as good as season 1, but still decent.

Season 1 was remarkable. Best of all the Netflix series. Season 2 for me was so difficult to finish. It was indeed "decent". But made me feel that the best of Iron Fist wasn't far off from certain parts of the season.

Season 2 needed a true big bad with a diabolical plan. Jessica’s mom wasn’t really a villain & she certainly had no plan. Some fans think that Trish was the closest thing to a big bad in season 2.

Well I mean, even the mad scientist character was fairly innocuous.

I can sort of accept season 2 more if Trish is the main villain of season 3.

This wasn't a season designed to have a supervillain. Instead, it's a story where they're going up against uncontrollable circumstances. Even when everyone is well-meaning, some things are unavoidable. So people looking for the villain are looking in the wrong place.

I blurted out at the final episode at the screen to Jessica "DO SOMETHING TO HER!" But then I understood after the fact why she didn't.

But now that we see Trish [BLACKOUT]has powers[/BLACKOUT]... I'm starting next season looking for blood! She can handle it now.

Yep, time to go all out. ;)

Finally got around to season 2. I hated it. I won't pretend I was a huge fan of the first season, especially tue later half, but at least I was able to understand the love. Season 2 was horrible. It's like there are no good people in this show.

This is a very accurate description, but fans of the superhero genre are naturally going to look for a vallain; after all, what good is having a hero if you don’t have a villain (sort of like “what’s good without evil?”)?

Renewed for Season 3

Hopefully it's better than season 2 and they don't obviously cut the budget again.

Only 5 weeks after. Compared to what like (4months or was it 6months) after the first season aired and we got confirmation of a renewal.

They are going to need to do a lot of work to make season 3 a success.

I'd love to know how the ratings did compared to season 1.

Jessica Jones is my first foray into NETFLIX Marvel shows and I just finished season 2.

While I liked season 2 it wasn't anywhere near as good as season 1 and was harder to watch. I'd put season 1 at a 9.5 and season 2 at 6-6.5.
I blazed through season 1 in 2 days, it took 9 days to run through season 2.

I have hope for season 3 as Krysten is a great actress, I've been a fan ever since her Veronica Mars days.

They cut the budget for season 2?

I mean it's pretty obvious they did.

Honestly, I didn't notice much of a difference (if any). None of the action sans her fight with Luke in season 1 really was all that impressive (since that involved many, many broken walls and a police vehicle). The rest was her jumping out of frame to simulate her flight and such. Season 2 was much of the same.

Yeah, budget didn't seem any different to me. It makes me wonder if people are misremembering the budget and thinking it was higher.

I just started watching this show & finished season 1. Was gonna start S2 tonight but judging from what people saying it's not as good I might just not bother. I loved S1 until it got to the last few episodes & to me it just got really frustrating like they couldn't figure out enough storylines to write. It was basically just this person screwing up that person's plan, & over & over again for like 4 episodes. For me it just got to the point where I was like just kill him already. If she would've done that the 1st time she had a chance she would've saved so many more lives. Didn't make sense to me at all to get all those other people killed just to try to save Hope. Especially since all her acquaintances kept foiling her plans every step of the way. I just think the show would've been alot better without people like Trish, Simpson, the lawyer, & definitely Robyn. Or at least write it better. At a few points in it I was hoping Killgrave was gonna kill all of them except Jessica. Lol

Same here. It looks the same to me. I'd have think they saved cash since Tennant wasn't a regular. But the budget would have to be allocated more to the cast salary since Ritter is a slightly bigger star now.

Maybe the lack of action sequences has people thinking this.
