The Dark Knight Jett finally gives us something to talk about! (ie Harvey Dent)

Norton has the best range and is very convincing in some of the troubled roles he has played. Only problem is he is short and isn't a brute the way Harvey is depicted in the comics...

Norton isn't short...

IMDb lists him as 6'1", Bailey as 5'11" and Foxx as 5'9"...

Norton is a really good actor. I don't think i'd have a problem with him in the role. Foxx is also another great actor but i believe Harvey Dent should be a white male so 'no' to him. Bailey i've only seen in Mindhunters which was a pretty bad movie so i'm not sure about him. He's certainly got the look.

I can't remember seeing Bailey in any movie.

Not sure about Norton. Word is he likes to rewrite either the script or his part, and he definitely won't have that kind of control with TDK. I'm not sure if he's into big studio pictures anymore. He does appear to be somewhat soft-spoken, but that might make for a good contrast with how he could play Two-Face. Bailey certainly has the look, and was talented enough for Nolan to look at him for Bruce/Batman (so at least Nolan thinks he can play the dual role). Foxx, as good as he might be, just doesn't look the part for me. Neither does Norton. But I'd rather someone who can play the part than look it. I can picture a black Dent, but a black Two-Face is difficult.

Check this out guys.Nolan is very familar with Bailey....

It's as if Warner Bros. Pictures were shining a Bat Signal over Burbank, summoning potential Caped Crusaders. Warners and helmer Christopher Nolan are zeroing in on an actor to star in the title role of the studio's next "Batman" installment, which is scheduled to start shooting in February. Sources said that during the next three days, several young actors are expected to test for the role. The list of potential crime fighters includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Christian Bale, Joshua Jackson ("Dawson's Creek"), Cillian Murphy ("28 Days Later"), Henry Cavill ("I Capture the Castle") and Eion Bailey, who stars in the upcoming HBO feature "And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself." Meanwhile, sources say Hugh Dancy, currently shooting the Walt Disney Co.'s "King Arthur," may test if his schedule permits and he is able to shave the beard his "Arthur" character, Galahad, is sporting.

Inside Move: New dynamic for WB duo
Are franchise heroes ready to fly again?

By CATHY DUNKLEY, JONATHAN BING

Pity Superman and Batman. Two of the mightiest figures in the history of comicbooks, they've remained locked in the Warner Bros. vaults as rival spandex-clad do-gooders Spider-Man and the X-Men reigned at the multiplex.
But Superman and Batman may at last have their day.

Warner execs and helmer Chris Nolan are readying "Batman" for a production start in early 2004. And the long-delayed "Superman" is showing new signs of life.

Warners has long sought to revive the franchises, but the studio has had several false starts, as helmers Wolfgang Petersen, Kevin Smith, Darren Aronofsky and Brett Ratner took turns flirting with the projects.

Last week, WB and Nolan tested several actors -- among them Jake Gyllenhaal, Christian Bale, Joshua Jackson, Cillian Murphy and Eion Bailey -- to determine who will next don the bat cape. A casting decision is expected as early as this week.

Film, developed from a script by David Goyer, should hit theaters in 2005.

Meanwhile, the studio has just received a new draft of the "Superman" script and is going through the budgeting process with helmer McG, following the departure of Ratner, who fell out over casting and other issues.

Though no deals are in place with McG and the pic does not have a greenlight, if Warners can get to a budget that works, the next step could be casting. If all goes well, "Superman" could see a 2005 or spring 2006 release.

Ratner wasn't the only "Superman" casualty. Longtime production chief Lorenzo di Bonaventura parted ways with the studio in part over a creative battle with WB prexy Alan Horn to push the edgier "Batman vs. Superman" into production first.

Insiders say a final clash of the superheroes is still possible, but the studio is determined first to breath life into "Batman" and "Superman" as separate entities -- a function of Horn and WB chairman-CEO Barry Meyer's mandate to build AOL TW's lucrative library gradually.

To that end, the next superhero out of the bag will be Halle Berry as "Catwoman," clawing her way into theaters next summer.

I can't remember seeing Bailey in any movie.
But he has the look.

When i watched Minhunters i recognized him because he was long tim fan favorite for the Superman role back when McG was going to direct. I think he even did a screentest.

He's definetly got the look. More than Norton probably.

I think Norton would make an exception for Nolan. Unless he turns hhim down flat like Chris Cooper did.
He does appear to be somewhat soft-spoken, but that might make for a good contrast with how he could play Two-Face.
His first onscreen role (hard to believe) he played a great dual role in Primal Fear opposite Richard Gere.So i think he could pull off this role with ease. They'd need to alter his look though to make it work.
Bailey certainly has the look, and was talented enough for Nolan to look at him for Bruce/Batman (so at least Nolan thinks he can play the dual role). I think they should let Dent/Face remain white.

Jamie Foxx? Oh **** that. Out of the three, i'll take Bailey. His stint on ER showed me he'd have the tools for the job.

Eion Bailey would be a good choice imo although he hasnt got a big name yet. but is a big name necessary at all? Think about it. Begins was flooded with big names like Caine, Freeman, Oldman, Neeson ect. Bale managed to shine as a new light between them and raised his reputatioin a lot with Batman Begins.
Considering the theorie that Dent turns into the villain end of TDK at the earliest, Bailey, if being cast, could prove his talent as an important supporting character in TDK to build up his his rep for the second sequel in which he will have a main role.
hmm, lets see. Id be ok with Foxx as well but he wouldnt be my first choice.

I would go with Jaime fox, he's definatly has shown his acting range already.

While Foxx isn't exactly my first choice for Dent, I simply can't understand why I'm seeing so many people taking a dump all over him. The guy is an extremely talented actor and singer, he's charismatic, charming, successful, admirable and an all-around solid performer. Hello?!?! Ray? Collateral? What's not to like about the guy?

Edward Norton: a f****ng genius. Again, not the first name that comes to mind when I think of Harvey Dent (I see him more as an Edward Nygma type), but, hell, this guy can play ANY kind of ROLE in ANY kind of MOVIE. So if he were chosen, I'd have no problem with it. I have oceans of respect for this man and I love his work. He's absolutely incredible in Primal Fear and American History X.

Bailey? Not all too familiar with him. I know of him and I've seen only small portions of his work, but he certainly has the look for Dent. One thing I immediately notice about him (despite not seeing much of him) is the conviction I see in this guy's eyes. Seems to be very engaging. I'll still have to see more of him, but if he was in Nolan's running for Bats, then he's gotta have something to offer. By no means against the choice.

Ok, so scratch off Eion Bailey, Edward Norton, and Jamie Foxx as candidates for Dent since they appeared on Batman-On-Film.

Hahaha... of course this is ALSO a highly probable outcome.

he looks a mix of Clive Owen and Ralph Fiennes:woot:

well and Ledger looks a mix of Val Kilmer and Christian Slater:oldrazz:

*zips on flame-proof suit and readies her pitchfork*

I'm gonna take on all attacks here because I know what I'm gonna say will piss everyone off. But I don't care.

Jamie Foxx is a good choice.

Anyone who has doubts should really watch Collateral. That scene where he had to pretend to be Vincent IMO proved that he is fully capable of portraying vastly different personas. That snap from mild-mannered guy to cold, all-business killer was superb acting and I've no doubt he would make a fine Dent.

So there. :p

Norton would be good, although I agree that he's more suited to Riddler. Bailey? Has a good resume and an up and comer - deserves a shot at the big time, IMO.

However, ultimately, I want my Denzel. It ain't happening, but there you go. ;)

I'd be fine with either of these 3 choices. Neither are the best for the role, but they're also far from the worst. There are actors i'd much rather have, but I'd live if either of them were cast.

You know, I thought Jett wasn't doing Dent rumours anymore - think there may finally be an announcement on the horizon soon?

Its a red herring. Just like all the names before the Ledger casting. I would take everything as a grain of salt right now.

Don't know about these choices - Bailey is an unknown, and I know they were shooting high with this - Norton or Foxx make the most sense to me.

I LOVE Edward Norton, and think he would be fantastic. Bailey would be fine, too.

Foxx, however...I just don't want. He's a fine actor, but I just don't think he's right for Dent. I just don't see him in the role.

Edward Norton is one of my favortie actors. He can play anything. However I think he would be a better Riddler than HArvey/2-face.

Eion Bailey I don't even know who that is.

Jammie Fox is a good actor and really [proved it in RAY, but I jus don't see him as 2 face. I still primarily think of him as a comedian actor.

OK, I’m going to let loose with a bit of the Dent scuttlebutt I’ve been hearing. I’ve done some checking -- asked some friends and colleagues check as well -- so here goes. I’ve heard three names -- let’s say “more than once” -- and here they are: Eion Bailey, Edward Norton, and Jamie Foxx.

Bailey’s name came up last fall from a couple of people and then again this past week. With Bailey, you could have a “Cillian Murphy” situation. Bailey, like Murphy, tested for the part of Batman/Bruce Wayne. IF Bailey is up for Dent, perhaps Nolan liked what he saw in the actor back in ‘04 and brought him in for a Dent look-see.

As far as Norton is concerned, a friend and colleague of mine checked into this rumor and was told by his reps that he’s not in the mix, not been offered anything, etc.

Alright, Jamie Foxx. Not a “conventional” choice for Dent per se, but he is an Oscar winner (for RAY). This would meet the “aiming high” talk that’s been going around, IMO.

http://www.batman-on-film.com/batmovienews.html

Please no Foxx! I rather have Denzel Washington as Harvey Dent. If I had to choose I cast Eion Bailey.

I know nothing of Eion Bailey so Im not sure about him.
Im a big Norton fan but I just feel Nolan could find someone better for Dent.
Im a Jamie Foxx fan but like Norton I dont think he really fits Dent, Id rather it be Denzel or Cheadle if theyre going with a black actor.

Clive Owen is my personal choice although a lot of people here I noticed don't prefer him for the role...

Actually my he is my #2 choice behind Guy Pearce (which will never happen)
but of the choices listed I would go with Bailey.

I love Norton as an actor but think he is all wrong for this role.

As far as Jamie Foxx. Anyone who says he cannot act are complete morons and wouldn't know a good actor if they saw one. I wouldn't be disappointed if he was chosen but I can think of two other African-American actors that would get me way more excited: Denzel and Don Cheadle.

Norton would be excellent.

Bailey aslo would look great as both Dent and 2Face, so I hope he will get the role (if Nolan doesn't find another perfect actor).

Foxx? I like some of his movies and he's a good actor, but he's also a bit overrated. Besides, I want to see white Dent from comics, not black Dent from Burton's films.
