Comics JMS off Amazing

It's true. From Wizard #183, page 13;

"Things won't die down for Spidey in the comics either, as Straczynski ends his six year run on the character..."

10 months from now ASM#546 will not be written by JMS, what a nice thought.:woot:

Ok has this been confirmed yet?.....cause I can't wait to put ASM back on my pull list, I don't care if his new costume's a freaking tutu!!

woohoooooooooooooo!!

Red and Blue tutu? I have to read 536, I heard he goes back to the red and blues! EEEEEeee!!!!

I'm surprised there aren't more people proclaiming their joy from the rooftops. I expected to hear some kind of "woot" from outside my bedroom window, but I do live in Jersey, so it may have been a little far away.

Wait until AFTER thanksgiving. They'll be here and back. They ALWAYS come back.

I think people are still in the "not getting my hopes up too high yet" mode....the reality is, JMS is a strong writer, he just sucks at writing Spider-man "consistently".....if the next announcement is "The new writer on ASM, Joseph Loeb, says his first job is to retcon the mess created in the "Other" and "Sins Past"...the reaction will shut down the internet!! :)

Plus I think the critics of present day Spider-man (myself included) now realize that JMS isn't the only problem......Peter David's FNSM has been at best, decent (The weblog stand alone)...and at worst unbelievably stupid (Jumping Tracks)....even the SSM title which in my opinion is the strongest 616 Spidey title currently, has had bouts of mediocrity (ending of Feral) and bad characterization (Black Cat handing Connors his ass)....plus JMS had nothing to do with the poor characterization going on in Civil WAr right now!!...

...celebrating the leaving of JMS is tantamount to throwing a party while your house burns down, to celebrate the fact that your smoke alarms do indeed work!!...ok bad analogy but I'm tired!! :(

I think the problems with spidey is more inherent than JMS at this point. He is the guy driving the car into railings, over his loved ones and straight into walls. What is more worrying are the guys who gave him the keys and said he should be allowed to have a license. And yes, as whatiftales says, if the next driver comes along to see all the damage done then simply shrugs his shoulders and gets into the battered car... well not much difference. The car needs remodeling, the streets need repair and the bystanders need medical attention. I don't see that happening anytime soon, too many went along for the ride at the time to turn around now. Ok, I need to stop the car analogy...

Plus, I'll believe it when I see it or hear an official statement from Marvel. This might be a tactic to raise hope and stomp on it again.

Now you see that my friends is a good analogy!!!....obviously Marc has been getting to bed early at night!!

Personally, I think Joey Q is more of a problem than JMS right now. Not saying it's not partially JMS fault for delivering his stories, which can be bad or mediocre at times, but I think JQ's the bigger problem with screwing with Peter's life.

This is great news.

As for his replacement, two words: Dan Slott.

Give it 24 hours, this thread will be 10 pages long & full of as many woots as you can possibly handle, plus more!

well put, my friend, well put.

the best part is reading some of the posts from these morons at newsarama.

Oh well. It was nice for the most part. Made me care about Spider-Man again.

I've really enjoyed JMS's run. This is sad news.

noooooooooooo

JMS was the only reason why I was reading ASM

Shame, I enjoyed how he wrote Peter. Still, least he got a long run

And le creme de la creme:

they should just give it over to sam raimi! that'd be bad ass

Wow, glad I don't go there.

Hey, screw you. For the most part I DID enjoy his run. Just got a little bored of it as of late.

Yes... that screw you part was really needed.

Calm down sonny, have a piece of cheese.

No, then i'll be in the bathroom all night.:oldrazz: And i'm sorry, but you called them morons for liking JMS' run and were sorry to see him go. Therefore, You seemingly called ME one for liking his run as well. If i'm wrong, please correct me. If not, then the screw you still stands.
