Joe Quesada will be on the Colbert Report July 27th

Or you could just take some intiative and spraypaint it everywhere yourself. :o

Between this and dealing with pissed fans at comic con, Quesada is not going to have a good week. :D

I'm sure he won't actually deal with any pissed fans at a con. Most people tend to be much nicer in person than they are online.

True, but it would be nice if at least someone would rip him a new one...come on Colbert. :D

Heh, tend to be much nicer, huh? That's a really nice way of saying that they're cowards. :o

Maybe, but its the nature of the beast.

LOL, that's the exact same thing I thought.:D:up:

I say more hypocrites than cowards really. If I dont like Joey Q why would I go up and meet him?

Because they work themselves up to get where he is and then when they're face to face with him, they chicken out.

I dont think thats it at all. Yeah let me get in line for 2 hours and im going to tell Joey Q how much he sucks. I doubt it really. Comic book fans are two faced.

And geeks are cowards when not "protected" by being in the 'net.

Arent we all? And its not geek exclusive. Look at the Bush hate on these boards, you think these people would go and tell him that stuff in his face?

Sort of. I see your point in that, and if I really had as much hatred for Quesada as a lot of people do on here, I wouldn't want to even see his face in person either. But, if you're going to talk smack on a guy, at least do it to his face...maybe he'll have a little more respect for that.

Who says you have to wait in line for two hours? I'm sure Quesada isn't going to be stuck in one place the whole time. And can be within shouting distance. At the Pittsburgh Comicon, the line to meet Bendis was like over an hour long. I didn't feel like waiting, but while talking with Greg Horn about his She-Hulk covers Bendis walked up to Horn, so I started BSing with all three of them, met Bendis that way. I told him his Daredevil was awesome, and that he's a lucky bastard to work with some of the best artists in the business today. Then I shook his hand and called it a day.

But most of the time, people who really hate Quesada would go to the Con pumping themselves up with all these things they want to say to him, get there, and then just stare at his triple chins and then not do anything because it's a little different in person, and looking in the man's eyes than it is behind the computer screen.

And I would say bad stuff to Bush's face if I could ever meet him in person. But it's a little easier access to Joe Quesada than George Bush.

Yeah people like that are dumb. if I ran into Joey Q at a COn id either ignore his presence of say hey, Guardian Devil was great and thats it.

Comic creators don't have Secret Service people backing them up.:o

I understand your point, Darth, but I've seen it happen. Heck, I've seen people I know as acquaintances chicken out before tehy even get to the person. It's hilarious because you can tell they're working themselves to a lather as they stand in line, and the more time passes the more time they have to get pissed; when they're close to "the finish line" they back out. I've seen their red faces, part anger and part embarassment, as they leave the line cursing and muttering under their breath. It never ceases to amuse me.

There's the hipocrisy part, too. But I've talked to a few of those and you can thell that, some of them, are people that didn't have the guts but don't have the guts to admit that either. I don't like JQ and alot of times I get pissed at the stuff he says, but I know it's stupid fan reaction. If I was ever at a con where he was I would look for some of his "The Ray" mini for DC. I would take it up to be signed and be I'd honestly tell him that I liked his work then. I'd then ask him what's the deal with the whole Speedball thing and if his flip flopping is because it's what he's told to do or is it because he just cares about feeding hype. I wouldn't be angry going up to him, what's the point? If I did he'd probably go "Uh, thanks for that. Next!"

If I ever went to a comic con, I'd probably focus on the positives than the negatives. I really wouldn't want to get in a pissing match with a creator. Then again, I'm going to pretend I'd talk smack to them either.

Yeah, that's what I did with Bendis. I could have said to him, "Yeah, man...you really need to speed up your stories, I hate your pacing". But, come on, how awkward would that have been? And I also am not a resident Bendis hater and talk about him dying a thousand deaths for writing the death of a fictional comic book character.

I think, sometimes, when people confront people they dislike and when it's done in person they might realize how DUMB it would be to hold that kind of grudge against another human being because of a COMIC BOOK!

But, hey, I guess that's all some people have in their lives...

Is there a big sign that says "Colbert grew up here"? It could up tourism in the area if there isn't, your town should think about it.
They don't need to, they cannot build houses fast enough down here right now.

That's basically it. At a con, there are bound to be creators you like and creators you don't like. Why bother wasting time *****ing at the creators you don't like when there are so many others you could go to that you'd actually enjoy talking to? When I went to MegaCon a year ago, I mostly stuck around Oeming, Waid, and Perez's booths and gushed over how awesome their respective works were. Why would I bother going over to talk to Joe Q when I have nothing good to say to him and, in all likelihood, nothing negative I say will really matter to him anyway? Switch things around and think about it: if you're a creator and some fan came up to you to vent about how you're ruining everything in the comics they love, wouldn't you just laugh and be like, "Yeah, but I like my work and I'm getting paid for it." *****ing to the creators' faces accomplish about as much as *****ing on a message board, and it's rude to boot.

Same here...of course secret service would be on our asses in two seconds. :(

See that's basically it. I'm not too fond of Quesada lately and while I would love to tell him off, there is only so much time at comic con to spend. I'd rather go see all the panels I'm looking forward too than waste time in one I don't want to be in, especially knowing that it will accomplish absolutely nothing.

I wouldn't even like to tell Joe Q off. I've never been that kind of person, and I know it wouldn't have any effect anyway.

Ive met Joey Q before and hes a nice guy, I doubt he'd recognize me.
