Joe Wright to Helm 'Pan'

For some reason I broke out laughing at the scene when Jackman gives a thumbs down. The look on his face is priceless. It's incredible how well Jackman can do both comedic and dramatic.

I saw him ad-lib so much in The Boy From Oz that the show ran nearly 40 minutes over. The man is a lunatic. :funny:

He reminds me of Tom Cruise in that way. When he does something, he really does it. He puts his all into it and it shows.

blah blah blah blah I'm excusing racism blah blah

I don't give a flying ****. Tiger Lily is not white. **** this movie and **** that Ridley Scott Moses movie and by paying money to see this POS you are just giving HW the excuse to cast more white people as POC characters.

I can't wait to come in to this thread and laugh when this gets bad reviews and then come back and laugh again when it bombs at the box office. :STR:

It was nuts. He would stop the show if someone walked in late and ask what kept them, then he would tell them what they'd missed. Then he'd go back to the show, but after the next song he'd stop again and check in with the late people to make sure they were caught up.

And he was usually good at spotting the people who were trying to walk in late on purpose, because he wouldn't stop for them, but this one time I saw it this guy clearly did it on purpose and tried to make a spectacle out of it, and Hugh just spent the rest of the show wiping the floor with this kid. He dragged the guy out of his seat so many times that he was practically hiding from him by the end of it. :funny:

You keep up that style of posting you probably won't still be here in July.

Well if you are gonna play, you'd better know who your playing against. I would have probably died from the embarrassment. Thankfully I am always early, no matter where I am going. :funny:

The emptier the theater, the better for me. Love me a nice, quiet theater with some leg room. :yay:

good thing this comes out in December then.
Oh, so you didn't even watch the trailer. Because Summer 2015 doesn't sound like December too me.

By the way, the date is July 17, 2015. I know because it is a Joe Wright film featuring Rooney Mara. I am quite a fan of both. :yay:

nevermind, I thought this was the Exodus thread because I was just ranting about racism in that one too lmao

Just got around to seeing the trailer, this looks like bright, colourful fun with Hugh turning the camp dial up to 11, scenery, run or be chewed! :D

December would be Summer in Australia. :woot:

Why is there no middle ground? Why wouldn't Pan end up as a acceptable film? Why only a great masterpiece or a terrible stinker?

Anyone know what that music is towards the end of the trailer? It's glorious. If that's from the movie score, they pretty much guaranteed a ticket purchase from me.

This looks so bright and so colorful, I can't help but be excited for this. Hope it turns out fun!

I really liked this trailer. With Wright directing, it's got potential. It reminded me of Hook, which is good.

What sold me was that surprisingly dramatic moment at the end with Jackman's wonderful delivery of, "Have you come to kill me, Peter?" "I don't believe in bedtime stories."

Really, really interesting stuff. Hopefully there's great context behind these two lines.

I haven't been following this movie at all, despite liking Joe Wright, Hugh Jackman and Amanda Seyfried.

Up until I finally watched the trailer I was thinking this was about the Greek god "Pan" with the goat legs and horns.:woot:

Really the Tiger Lily thing is my ONLY big problem with this movie. The rest of it looks good, or at least enjoyable campy. And the Disney movie was made back in the 50's, so using it to justify a decision like this being made in 2014 doesn't work.

Trailer looks interesting. Not fan of whitewashing Tiger lily but Hollywood benevolent racism is what its is.

It looks campy but the end scene with blackbeard and peter was suprisingly emotional

I still prefer the Peter pan movie from 2003 and am so sad that it never really got a following. It was awesome!
