Joe Wright to Helm 'Pan'

I wonder what age range of actors they are looking at for Peter…
I thought they would have cast Tiger Lily younger.
Me too

As for Pan, I think it will help the film if they cast someone we've seen before.

Which was better Hook or the last Peter Pan that came out in 2003 I think? I only remember a little of Hook.

Hook was a sort of sequel to the original Pan story while the 2003 film was the original story. I prefer Hook.

Peter Pan was accurate but Hook was honestly more fun.

I still don't understand the 'hate' that Hook got. It's mostly from guys like Harry Knowles and Devin Faraci; generation x.

Everyone that i know love the film, so I think it's generational thing because by the time guys like Devin and Harry saw the film, they would've been in their angsy late teens/early 20s.

Thanks for the stereotype:cmad::oldrazz:

I was a freshman in college when Hook came out and it's still one of my favorite Spielberg films. Love that movie, I think I saw it in the theater 3 or 4 times.

I think that movie was the precursor to Hollywood making movies based on the pov of classic villains. Well, I guess Boris and Natasha technically did it first.

I bought Hook on DVD a few months ago, my first time seeing it since I was a kid.

Even though it doesn't exactly come together in the way it's trying to... I watched it twice in two days. So, yeah, I enjoyed it.

I was too young to "get" Hook. I haven't watched it in years. Might give it another look.

Saw Hook as a kid and loved it. I think if you grow up with that movie, it has a certain magical quality, but adults who saw it in 1991 absolutely hated it. Even Spielberg has gone on record as saying he regrets it, which is a shame.

I think the concept is clever, Robin Williams and Maggie Smith are terrific, the first act is pure classic Spielberg with a bit of an edge (surprising given the tone of the rest of the movie), and it is one of John Williams' absolute best scores. I am a fan.

The 2003 movie is the better film though. It is a good representation of the original story. Though since I was no longer a kid, I never really rewatched it that much. But it works very well.

Hook is magical. The score on it's own makes it one of my favourite family films. Dustin Hoffman and Bob Hoskins are hilariously good.

Yeah, I liked Hook. Not surprised Faraci hated it since he's an idiot.

Hook is a good movie. and it hurts me that the director who made it doesnt like it. did he have problems filming it ? how can you not like it ?

Really? Speilberg doesn't like it?

Well, he also doesn't like Temple of Doom, and I love that movie too.

Yeah, I don't think he likes Hook. As for Indiana Jones, he acknowledges criticisms with Doom and Skull, but I think he said he's still proud of those movies. Not sure where I read this though.

I'm sure Speilberg loves some of his films that I don't like. I think Hook is very entertaining.

I like 1941, regardless of what the lexicon thinks of it.

He had huge problems working with Julia Roberts and her ego. I love both films

In keeping with the multi-racial Neverland that director Joe Wright envisions, “Four Lions” star Adeel Akhtar has been cast as Smee in Warner Bros.’ big-budget tentpole “Pan,” an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap.

The film will star Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard and Garrett Hedlund as Captain Hook, while Rooney Mara is in negotiations to play Tiger Lily.

Nice choice.

In Neverland, how does aging work? I mean, Hedlund is fairly young. Does he 'stop believing' and turns older when you lost that inner child?

nice cast so far. i hope they add a black and asian actor inside.

Wright is good. i hope they will give him more creative control than they usually do.
