Over at www.newsarama.com there's a interview with Joey Q...their weekly interviews in fact that newsarama does every week...anyways there talkin about Venom and his character in the comics...he says..
"It’s interesting that you bring him up because we just got out of a meeting in which we discussed Venom at length. With Venom being one of the stars of the Spidey movie, we have some interesting ideas for him that may just make people take some notice. "

So he basicly confirmed Venom will be in Spidey 3....check out the article and read it for yourselves....

No idea but I've been waiting ever since I heard Sam Raimi would be directing the upcomig Spider-Man movie, I was just upset it was Green Goblin who was confirmed...then Doc Ock and now VENOM!!!

Right. Making him a Spider-Man clone is an interesting idea. What the hell was Marvel thinking?

JQ: Definitely a product of his time, I think Venom is a bit over played and over done and needs some rethinking.

Maybe a clone isn't the best way to go about that, but he's right.

No I was not upset, but if you read my other posts you would know that I love Venom above ALL other marvel characters, I'm talking a wide margin between Venom and my second fave. So when I heard of a Spidey movie I naturally wanted Venom.

If my love of these characters could be measured in height Spidey (my 2nd fave) would be the height of the Empire State Building...My love of Venom is about five miles past the planet PLUTO

The same reason there are a lot of cloning movies. Just as nuclear war and monsters created by such were what frightened people in the 50's/60's and therefor was what a lot of their movies were based on, so cloning is the new fear/interest that people want to see explored in movie.
