I think Jack Nicholson did a great job in 1989, but they should try something different this time.

My choices would be Johnny Depp, or even Michael Keaton.

Yeah, they shouldn't make this Joker resemble Nicholson's. Infact, Nicholson didn't have the big nose when he played him like in the books. I think it would be a great advantage to use that, and add more to the creepiness that was said he'd be in the sequel.

Still going with Depp.

Dead End Joker didn't work. Aside from the bright green hair, the very forced laugh, and the funky eyebrows, he was waaaaay too short. Joker is supposed to be around 6' 5" or so. Dead End's Joker was like 5' 4." Terrible casting.

plus he was a kinda bad actor.

Keaton? For real? Would you have had Reeve come back as Luthor??? I would be open to this if he hadn't already kicked some ass as Batman, but that should take him out of the picture

People who think Joker should be Keaton are smokin' rocks! lmao, come on guys get real with that one....though I have heard it since I have been here....which means they don't plan on stopping the smoking of rocks anytime soon.

Keaton isn't even being considered anymore...

^Hey, he was Beetlejuice. I don't see why not.

I have a question.

Can Bettany do an American accent?

was he ever? seriously, I mean?

His name was thrown around for Joker, just because he played Batman before. They were talking about how it would be if he switched from hero to villain. Personally, I disliked the thought of it. I want someone new like Bettany or Hulme, or hell even a NEW candidate for the role. Just to see which can potray the Joker Nolan wants to bring on screen.

Well I picked Jim Carrey, he's the best for the job even though he was already The Riddler, but realisticly he would not be considered. So my second choice is Crispen Glover.:batman: VS.:joker:

Carrey would be a decent Joker IMO, but it'll never happen.

Glover isn't a candidate anymore, he said so himself months ago.

Jim Carrey as Joker?? ah come on he's good actor but no way he should be cast as Joker, plus when WB say "it's reboot" than cast Carrey for BB2 and people think it's a prequel and it's Batman 6 which isn't.

If Carrey had not been The Riddler, I'd most likely want him for The Joker. I mean look at all the amazing dramatic films he's done. He should've gotten Oscar nominations for The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine On The Spotless Mind (I only saw bits & pieces of both films, but from what I saw, he was excellent), and he has just about all the other essentials needed for the part. I mean, The Mask is just a non evil version of The Joker with green skin. He's got the height, the grin, the build, the face and the charisma. The man would've been awesome.

Now I hate Schumacher even more for casting Carrey in BF.

WILLEM DAFOE:

He was in the running back in 1989. He'd have been damn good, but that ship has sailed.

As has the Goblin-Glider...

Amen to that brother.

That being said, if Dafoe and Jim Carrey had not already been in comic book movies as villians, they'd probably be my top picks.

I think so. Wasn't he in some tennis movie w/ Kirsten Dunst where he was American?

He did a good American accent for about 5 minutes in Firewall, and I hear he does one the entire time in Dogville. So yeah, he can do an American accent.
