I think it is a bad idea to do solo movies for all the individual characters first. Do Cap, Iron Man, and Hulk. Maybe Thor (though a movie about a real norse God will probably bomb with middle America). The rest can't really carry their own movies.

Yeah, i thought the same thing about a little known Marvel character 10 years ago.

If Favreau does a good job with Iron Man, I doubt I would have a problem with him directing Avengers. Then again, one of the other directors working on the other characters' solo titles may do an even better job.
