The Dark Knight Jonathan Nolan: Creative Screenwriting Interview!

"Yeah uh...you know how umm...in the comics...sometimes Batman sort of like, has to decide whether or not to kill The Joker? You know, like, the crux of their relationship is that they need each other? Well we...in later script stages, we totally did that in our movie. It's so layered and umm...anything you don't like is Chris and David's".

weird...no english accent. where he and chris separated, adopted?!?!

from what I understand, chris and family moved to Chicago when he was a teen. Jonah being the younger brother probably grew up speaking with a flat accent. But if you listen closely its a bit like bale's American accent, where a little bit of English peaks through - like when he says "process"

My guess is Chris grew up in England, whereas Jonathan grew up in America. I think there is a pretty big age gap between them.

Great interview by the way!

EDIT: there is only a six year age gap between both of them. Nolan is only 37...I'm pretty shocked how good a director he is for someone so young. He has like another thirty years left in him!

Haha. WOW.

As people have mentioned before, Chris grew up in London and Jonah grew up in the US.

Although, in The Prestige interview (in the same podcast) last year, you can hear Jonah's accent shift mid-way. It sorta threw me when I heard it.
