Deadpool 2 Josh Brolin is Cable

Wow. Didn't see this coming, but he's kinda perfect. I never liked him for Batman back when that was a rumor, but he suits Cable really well.

As for the Thanos thing... it's not like that really matters because the universes will likely never cross over (sheds tear) and even if they did, Thanos is more or less all CGI just with Brolin's eyes.

I'll honestly never get the "but this actor is already playing this chatacater!" comments.

They're actors. They play different roles. It's like saying he can't play any other historical figure because he played W.

Not to mention Brolin isn't hugely recognisable as Thanos, to the GA anyway. Also as Cable half of his fave will be obscured.

I love the casting.

It's great casting! I always thought actors had something like a clause forbidding them to appear in CBMs from different studios at the same time. Was this a thing in the Past?

LOL, they seriously need to cast Brolin to play Rick Perry when they make All the President's Men 2: Trumpocalypse.

I don't think there's ever been a non-compete clause for actors and CBMs. Don't they have like, guilds who protect against that.

His MCU deal was likely finished after the two Avengers movies anyways, so he was likely free to play Cable.

Mind. BLOWN!

Wasn't expecting this, but I'm insanely happy with this choice!

Yeah it would be weird to deny an actor a potential role that isn't a conflict "just cause"...

Josh can't be Thanos, he was Jonah Hex!

Josh can't be Cable, he's Thanos!

And Captain America was that muscular nerdy guy with Negan and Gamora and Heimdall in The Losers

And let the Thanos jokes commence. And Jonah Hex jokes, and Oldboy ones, and George W. Bush ones, etc.

Josh can't be Cable, he was Tommy Lee Jones!

Spot on. He does dry humor better than most. The perfect "comedy straight man". Watch him be funnier than Deadpool.

It's a fair question. The movies are filming and releasing around the same time. Smith couldn't Independence Day because of Suicide Squad and Renner can't do Mission Impossible because of Avengers.
