Deadpool 2 Josh Brolin is Cable

I think he looks great. He looks like a soldier who has been through some ****. Not a superhero.

I love the BFG and the Teddy (which I'm sure will have a poignant story attached to it). He looks "lived in" and real.

More futuristic in what way? He might only be from 10-20 years down the line. Technology won't have changed that much, especially if the world's basically ended.

Something Solid Snake look.

I like the look but I don't love it. I feel like its lacking something.
I'm not impressed like I was with Domino.

I see what they did there!

I agree 100%, man!

I like the look overall. Seems very Liefeld-esque. Lots of pouches and impossibly big overcomplicated gun (shame Bishop didn't have something similar as opposed to what he had in DoFP). Though it does feel like a couple of things are off. I'm not so sure on the hair and I think the harness could have had shoulder pads as a nod to his comic look.

Looks great. I'm more worried about his story than anything else.

I see a lot of people on twitter confusing facts. People don't seem to know the difference from Cable (Nate Summers), Stryfe, and Nate Grey (X-Man).

They also constant make the mistake of thing that Jean Grey is his mom, when his parents are actually Madelyne Pryor and Cyclops.

And some people thinks he's a cyborg when he is actually just a mutant infected by the tecno organic virus.

Ryan Reynolds just liked my twit, I hope this means he acknowledge I'm right.

"Will you also explain that he's not actually a cyborg but is infect by the tecno organic virus and he uses his TK power to prevent spreading"

Hopefully given how keen to get Deadpool right they don't mess around with Cable's origin by changing such key elements.

Just sic! Brolin really is comic book character-compatible visually(this,Thanos and Jonax Hex)!

Well, may as well update with the newly released photo:

I'm pleased to see that his eye scar is in the shape of an asterisk, as opposed to a single mark/gash. I know it's a simple feature, but it's one I've come to associate with the character, as it makes him slightly distinct from other similar looking cyborg types

I do hope that Brolin looks a little more massive and wider on film, though, especially considering the great effort he put into bulking up for the role.

Thanks for pointing that out.....I wasn't aware of that.

Not bad. Could do with a chestpiece and shoulder pads though. Otherwise good.

Yeah, the T-O virus is basically an organic metal that Nathan Summers was infected with as a child, courtesy of Apocalypse's machinations. To save his life, Scott Summers (his dad) was forced to send him into the future where the Clan Askani, a rebel group formed by a time-displaced Rachel Summers, managed to stop the virus from spreading. As a contingent, they also created a healthy clone who grew up to become the despot called Stryfe. Neither of them knew the truth about their respective origin until much later in life, however. And that's only a small fraction of Cable's convoluted backstory. lol

That said, I don't really think 'mutant-turned-cyborg' is too terrible a misnomer when applied to Cable. Sentient or not, techno-organics are still a form of metal; and mutants are just evolved humans.

I still think Ron Perlman would have made a pretty badass Cable but this looks interesting.

Every bit as bad as the Domino design. Cable's color scheme is all wrong. He needs to wear either blue or orange. Cable doesn't wear green and he needs some sort of armor.

I don't like the haircut (very 2017 trendy) or the plain brown shirt. But I do like the arm quite a bit.

It appears to be inspired by Cable's look in the "Fatal Attractions" crossover that ran through the X-books in the early 90s.

The 'fade' was really popular back then.

No bright yellow codpiece? #NotMyCable :argh:
