The 22% percent of critics who didn't like it should hang their heads in shame.

I am surprised the Critical score is actually higher than the User one, would never have thought that. But then I don't hold a great deal of stock in RT scores.

How does the RT score (user) compare to other reboots? e.g BB,TIH,TASM,MOS

To beat on a dead horse,:bdh:...

It is surprising but I wonder if more people saw it, how it would skew the score's average, up or down.

Yeah fair point, I was more surprised at the critics actually liking it, I thought they would have hated it, I never read any reviews last year about it, just went and saw it off my own back, so this is the first time I'd looked at any.

Even Stallone admitted they got stuff wrong with his version of Dredd.

So, off-topic but this is the closest relevant thread given the 2000AD link; Michael Rooker as Yondu in the Guardians of the Galaxy - has everyone seen the set pics? They've replaced the fin with a Mohawk and, well, it's Rogue Trooper, isn't it?

Not sure if you guys know this, but Dredd is now available on Netflix Instant Stream. I'm watching it right now. In addition to that, it's Number 1 on the Popular on Netflix section.

I added it to my queue a few days ago but haven't gotten to rewatching it yet. Yay for number one though. :)

I'm ashamed to say it, but the first time I watched Dredd was on YouTube. I was looking up some stuff at the time of the DVD/BR release and it was there. I decided to watch it. I definitely regret it now that I've watched it properly. I'm gonna boost my 8.5 rating to a 9. I want a sequel dammit.

Noticed that yesterday and watched it to celebrate. :yay:

It's such a kickass movie. I don't think I'll ever tire of it.

Yeah, now that's it's apart of Netflix lets me watch it anytime! I really, really enjoyed it. Best shoot em' up movie in a long time.

I did think of RT when I saw the set-pics, just shows he could be done as well. Wonder what ever happened to the RT Sam Worthingtons company was developing, maybe because his stock as a movie star has declined they put it on the back burner. Would still love to a RT movie on day though.

Anyone else get an email from signing the petition for a sequel. It states that they have received more than 80,000 people that signed it.

On 18th September, we're encouraging everyone to take part in a massive DREDD SEQUEL DAY OF ACTION - we've already made the moneymen who could get behind a sequel sit up and take notice by consistently keeping the DVD and Blu-Ray in the charts on Amazon and now on Netflix.

We're asking everyone who's signed the petition to come together next Wednesday and drive DREDD back up the charts - if everyone who's signed the petition bought an extra DVD or Blu-Ray (either for themselves or as a present for a friend) or rented/bought it on iTunes and Netflix it will send the loudest signal yet that WE WANT MORE DREDD!

So spread the word that on Wednesday 18th September, you're going to bring DREDD back into the public eye! Plus, it's the day that the new comic book sequel comes out, with lots of media attention planned for this and the campaign.

Thanks to Rebellion for helping put this newsletter together - we're also really pleased to reveal that the official T-shirt for the campaign is now available, so you can wear your support with pride!

So, you ready?

I never signed the petition and I cant afford to buy another copy, me and my brother bought a copy of the BD each so I think thats enough.

I'm not getting my hopes as I have seen things like this happen before with other movies from years ago and we still to this day dont have sequels to them.

I'm also not going to rebuy the movie but with roughly 80,000 people at say $6 a ticket, that's about $480,000. The budget of the first film(not including marketing) was $50 mil.

I don't want to get my hopes up because as you said, petitions really don't work, but the first film definitely got it's second chance on home video as well as Netflix.

Yeah its had a good following on the home front, but I remember the same happening with Serenity and we still have no sequel to that 8 years later.

Things are a bit different now with studio's greenlighting sequels that only just made their money back, but Dredd's BO performance truly was awful, the marketing being mainly at fault.

finally caught this

wow what a fun ride of a movie just a bad ass action movie i hope robocop is this fun and this brutal

The new Robocop seems to be taking a lot from Dredd, even down to basic designs of the city and vehicle's, its a bit too obvious what they are copying with the Robo re-boot.

Yeah. Same story, different decade.

:hehe:

Even though its probably pointless, I might still watch Dredd on Netflix tomorrow. . .

( I already have a copy on disk, yes, but in addition to supporting vague sequel campaigns, I also want my account to eat some more data )

Today's the day. My friend's B-Day is coming up so that gave me another excuse to pick up another copy of the dvd. Also watching it on Netflix again. MOAR DREDD!
