Heh, yeah.

Judge Hershey's a$$ was nice though. That got me though it. :D

They should go with a no-name

I'm hooked on the idea of either Perlman, Baldwin or Brown in the role.

You know, for the whole keep-the-helmet-for-the-entire-movie thing

Perlman's not exactly cast in roles because of his movie-star good looks, I doubt the studio would have a problem with it :D

And considering the roles were he's worn heavy makeup for the entire movie, I think a role where he wears only a helmet might be seen as a blessing.

haha yeah :funny: I can imagine him accepting the role after just a phone call

I think we can scratch out Danny Boyle as a pick for director:

EmpireOnline asked Boyle about the new movie:
"Where has this come from? Someone asked me about Judge Dredd the other day! [Once we remind him that DNA has the rights] Well... ha! I hated the last version of it; I can't imagine the next one will be any better."

I'd be for this.

A few people have said Baldwin is a good choice choice now, of course, I was the first to suggest him :woot: :cwink:.

Shame really, he might have been a good pick.

That narrows down my picks to Neil Marshall or Stephen Norrington then. As a long shot I wouldnt mind Alex Proyas either.

Someone who might also be a very good choice to play Dredd is Dominic Purcell(Prison Break).

Neil Marshall has very recently proved he would be a terrible choice for the Dredd job.

you know what? Neil Marshall may have missed the boat with Doomsday, but it doesn't mean he's a terrible director.

It's because no one is aloud to make bad movies theses days, God help Speilberg if he released 1941 today.

OK I haven't read this thread so I may have missed it, Have they picked a star for this yet?

As for the last Dredd movie...

I thought it wasn't THAT bad. It wasn't the Dredd from the comic but I kinda liked it.

The look of Mega City and the Judge's costumes were good IMO, And I thought that Stallone could have done a better job had he kept Dredd's helmet on and had a better script.

But that's just my opinion.:yay:

Isn't he a little bit too short though?

I'm not sure. But if he is, that shouldn't really be a big of a problem these days. I mean, Marv from Sin City is a huge guy, but Mickey Rourke isn't really tall, actually.

Never said he was a terrible director .... The Descent is one of the best horror films of the last ten years but is a million miles away from the world of Dredd.

Doomsday is puddle of bile and I just don't think he is close to being the right man.

This is it for Dredd ... they need to get this right, the character deserves a stunning movie.
