Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

I would have liked for it to stay board games too. But, I don't think a kid born in 2009-2010 would really be that knowledgable. I know I wasn't of things many, many years prior. It's weird to say and think about because it makes me feel old, but we're many generations into the evolution of video games now that to them N64 even feels like an old thing their parents sometimes mention. As long as they make it a very old system or kind of system. The thing I don't like is if it's a sequel - how did the transition from board game to video game even take place? Was it like Virtuocity in which a deranged creation forces a human to make it or did a game being escape and make it? It's just really odd in those terms to me.

Next they'll be doing another Ouija movie, but it'll be a mobile app. SMH.

Just thinking about the video game thing, is it going to be a Jumanji gaming console with a Jumanji game? Seems like an odd idea...or will it be a "normal" gaming console and they find a Jumanji game to play on it. The video game element is an odd choice imo.

I'm just curious to see how whatever power/curse was on the board game, gets transferred to a video game?

Perhaps the board game transfers it self into a video game as a result of someone rolling the dice.

Naysayers calm down...

Nick Jonas is in this movie.

I would have had a problem with that, but if Nolan casts a Jonas brother maybe another brother can actually act. I grew up a 90s kid making fun of Justin Timberlake, now look - I'm a fan of his acting because I think the guy is actually very talented in that department. Basically, don't jump on things like that anymore.

Im not up to date, what's all this about a Jumanji video game?

Apparently it's a video game this time around and not a board game.

First look at Nick Jonas in Jumanji:

I personally relate to video games much more than board games to be honest. I played board games as a kid, but nowhere near as much as I played Nintendo, Sega, and then Playstation. Barely anyone plays board games at this point. The thing to really be skeptical of if you liked the original is how jokey/comedy based this is probably going to be. The original was more of a straight up family adventure than a yuk yuk comedy.

I wonder if Jonas got stuck in the game when he was a soldier fighting in WWI or WWII... just from the jacket and the hair, it looks very dated while also it looks nothing like the other in game characters.

Is Nick Jonas the "Fetch" to Hollywood's Gretchen Wieners?

Justin Timberlake is not a good actor. He's fun on SNL but that's about it...

If you think that, watch 'Alpha Dog' and 'The Social Network.' But, especially 'Alpha Dog' - the movie where basically every critic applauded his performance in it. Granted, he's like Channing Tatum where he needs a great script and a director who knows what he's doing to work off of (if you disagree there, watch the movie that got Tatum noticed - 'A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints.')

I guess that means you never heard of Street Fighter: The Board Game. :oldrazz:

I vaguely remember a Street Fighter 2 board game.

From the looks of it kinda remind me their stuck in Temple Run lol

Loved Jumanji as a kid. Probably the first VHS that I spent my hard earned chore money on. And definitely got an eye on this. But honestly, I'm more interested in how this might end up inspiring the Shazam! movie.

oh my, i have fantasies starting like that, and there's already a good amount of skin visible......
