June 2007 Solicitations

Bah!That Punisher suit is so ridiculous!I love this book.

Avengers Initiative sounds like it's going to be the cat's pajamas.Slott has a pretty big playground here so it's going to be fun.

There are a lot of books missing.

CAPTAIN AMERICA #27
Written by ED BRUBAKER
Penciled by STEVE EPTING & MIKE PERKINS
Cover by STEVE EPTING
Part 3 of the senses-shattering "Death of a Dream" storyline continues the follow-up to Cap's side of the story from Civil War that you can only find here in Captain America -- and all we can tell you right now is, nothing is what it seems! Not even this cover!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$2.99

:ninja:

Cap's face looks pretty goofy on that cover. And about 20 years older than it ought to be.

Otherwise, cool cover. I hope this means that Bucky stole Cap's shield from the Iron Fascist and is heading towards becoming the temporary Cap, although that "not even this cover [is what it seems]" makes me wonder.

Mary Marvel is the new Captain America.

I don't know if his mini has revealed it or not, but why on Earth did Wonderman forget or lose the ability to fly? as shown in Mighty Avengers

Omega Flight #3's cover looks impressive

Uuuuuh hating Punisher's Cap.America attire.

Apparently, he really hasn't though, consdiering he flew in other parts of the issue.

I'm more concerned about why Wonder Man decided that that red jacket was a better fashion statement than his previous costume. Oh, how I loathe that red jacket. :(

The Initiative #3: The team of the initiative sent to hunt down the Amazing Spider-Man consists of the shocker (villain), boomerang (villain), and hydroman (villain). So... are, there... any heroes in the post civil war teams? Are we handing out pardons and freedom deals to every one ever incarcerated?

Is there any more they can do to keep us on the side of gunning down Tony Stark with the very bullets that killed Cap and were removed post mortem? Ummm, don't think so!

No clue, apparently Cho can only draw women's clothing.:o

At least Shocker and Boomerang, and to a lesser extent Hydro-Man, are relatively harmless villains. They go on the occasional revenge kick, but more often than not they're just robbing banks or doing other small-time nonsense. They're not homicidal maniacs like Venorpion or the Green Goblin.

I am kind of disappointed that Rhodey appears to be going along with everything Tony wants like he's Tony's personal buttmonkey. Hopefully Slott will show Rhodey having some objections and being a more moderate voice than Iron Fascist.

Winter Soldier should have Cap's shield, it is as it should be.
Bucky should become the new temporary Captain America.

What if he didn't steal it from Iron Man, what if the Government appoints Bucky to be the new Captain America?

The government is Iron Man's personal hooker at this point, so I doubt they'd go over his head. Besides, why would the government want Bucky to be Cap anymore than Iron Man would? Bucky's way too loyal to the memory of Steve-O, plus he's a wanted assassin.

Hahahahahahahahaha! Storm as a special guest star in an X-book!:(

Cap sounds so awesome. Mighty Avengers looks great, too.

-so larrocca returns to the x-men? i'll pass. i'm so sick of him and his grossly overrated artwork.

-i'm not sick of adi granov, however. he's got to be the number one cover artist in the business right now. i'm certainly not one for super-realistic art, but this guy is flat out amazing. if marvel were a smart company, they'd put him on a 12 issue run of something, and wait to release the first issue until after he's finished with the whole shebang. i'd love to see him do an event crossover in the future.

-i don't think i've been this excited about a comic book as i am with avengers: the initiative, in a very long time. i cannot wait for the first issue to drop. slott's going to set the bar on this one.

one last thing:

how the hell does robbie see out of that helmet? has that EVER been addressed?

With Slott's knowledge of continuity, I doubt he wouldnt. I mean, did Tony and Rhodey ever mend their friendship? He told Tony to **** off in the WCA days, then he was in limbo for a while, then the Crew happened for about a week, then he showed up in ONE. To the best of my knowledge, he still hates him.
