- The biggest surprise was Parker/Cruz's X-MEN: FIRST CLASS actually seemingly returning as an ongoing. It's not a groundbreaking title, but it's fun and light and I've enjoyed it more than I expected. Considering it usually only sells maybe 5-10 slots higher on the Top 100 than RUNAWAYS does, I wasn't expecting a return. Surprising.
- NOT surprised that yet another X-Men event seems to kick off with a death. I guess that is how they always are, but it gets old. It gets to the point that a lot of events could be written by a generator.
- NEW AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE still looks good, although I'm not a fan of making villians into "anti-heroes" either; it drains the pool of good villians. Of course, Marvel has always lacked a "Suicide Squad" and, as has been said, Shocker & Boomerang aren't homicidal maniacs like Green Goblin, they usually just are in it for money. Although Boomerang tried to assassinate Murdock when his identity first leaked (along with Shotgun). We'll see how it works.
- Winter Soldier taking over for Cap makes more sense than Punisher, and I don't even read it. But, yes, Marvel may be in serious risk of rehashing REIGN OF THE SUPERMEN here.
- NOVA is looking excellent. I hope he throws beating all around and attempts to lecture folks on what REAL heroes are, or try to remind some who have forgotten. Penance needs a beating just for being Emo.

While Terran heroes were divided over a law, he was uniting entire alien races against a common good, and literally gutted Annihilus. With the collective power of the Nova Corps inside him, he's also probably got enough power to give Iron Man a run for his money.
- I am suffering "event fatique" and just don't care so much about WORLD WAR HULK, especially as they was also done once; THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN. Y'know, super-strong, nigh invulnerable behemoth crashes from space, smashes stuff, wants revenge on people (it was revealed Doomsday wanted Superman because he was a Kryptonian, like the docs who created him), heroes get mangled, etc.
- NEW WARRIORS has a nice cover but some of the interviews have made me very hesitant. It is looking like another "in name only" like THE CHAMPIONS and could be another dropped ball with a franchise that has seemed to have nothing but dropped balls and missed oppurtunities.
- Despite learning the identity of Guardian in THE INITIATIVE one-shot, still have high hopes for OMEGA FLIGHT. I still wonder if Julia Carpenter's new boyfriend may appear, or is he in federal lockup forever.

I mean, Shroud is the opposite of many Pro-SHRA characters; a hero pretending to be a villian, rather than a villian pretending to be a hero.
- Namor looks angry.
