December 2007 Solicitations

Actually, I imagine the "old New Warriors" will really just mean Justice, Rage, and maybe Turbo. Firestar's still retired and Robbie's all "whatev, I'm emo now."

Me either. It'd be nice if she and the others rejoined the New Warriors, too. Imagine Justice and Rage using the Initiative's training against them. Sweet irony. :)

Great way to cap off the first arc, if you ask me: establish the newbs, then bring the old guard back into the fold at the end.

Hey, look, Jean Grey. In a sort of...guidebook thingy, but still, Jean Grey. Seems to raise the question of whether she'll play a part in Messiah Complex.

If it turns out that Jean comes back only to sacrifice herself to save mutantkind, I'll puke. I will really throw up. All over the comic book.

If it turns out Jean comes back with the Phoenix in tow at all, I'm dropping Messiah Complex. The best thing for the X-Men would be if the Phoenix stays nice and far away from them.

Agreed. Jean can come back at some point, but no Phoenix anymore. I'm done with that ****.

If they just keep Claremont away from the main X-Men teams, I think everyone would be done with that ****.

Now that the full solicts are up, some additions:

- NEW WARRIORS #7 looks good, it is about time some of the actual "old schoolers" returned on that book. I was fearing the X-gimmick getting overdone. But how long will they stay?

- Camp Hammond's new drill instructure sounds fun, although you have to wonder about the feds hiring a merc. Granted, they hired him a few times before, once even to train John "U.S. Agent/Ex-Capt. America" Walker.

My hate for Claremont makes me pity him more then anything. What a shell of a talent he's become. :(

They may pump him full of nanites like the Thunderbolts. Either way, I hope he's in his purple costume, even though I know he'll be in his awful blue, yellow, and white one. :(
hate the silver webs on the Spidey cover
It's Larroca, what do you expect? The guy can't draw anything without some kind of photo reference anymore.

Purple costume? I didn't know the UDON costume was purple...

Still, he has worked for the Marvel fed without the benefit of nannites before. He's not really a nasty sociopath like Bullseye, just works for whoever is putting up enough dough. If Stark offered him a million a year I wouldn't be surprised if he joined the Mighty Avengers. :p

The last thing I wanted to do was open up a Marvel comic book and see Gene Hackman. Larroca ruined that for me. :(

That would be awesome. Taskmaster and Ares on the same team is kind of a scary thought, though.

I never understood why people support books so late [ie. Mighty Avengers] and still buy it. I actually dropped it, after #2...wait what # are they even on now anyways?

Definitely.

Hype. And the fact that even with delays and story flaws it still is more fun than OMIGOD, LET'S OVERDO SKRULLS (sold in the states as NEW AVENGERS).

Uuuuhh..I dropped New Avengers too as the story was moving far to slow.

I'm really getting into the independent books now, as I need a break from a major comic event and the subsequent tie-ins happening every few months.
