Jurassic Park IV

I would like to see the core characters return. I am opposed to recasting the children simply because they would somehow try to get Shia Lebeouf to play the little boy.

Ariana Richards (lex) would probably eagerly come back... her acting career hasn't been so hot but she still acts, same with Joseph Mazzello (tim) but both hardly look recognizable anymore, I'd rather them not be in the movie if there acting is bad.

I want Miley Cyrus to be in it!

as far as we know from the producers of the jp series have stated in interviews their likely isnt going to be a jp4 now for a long time since the writer of jp1 and 2 novels michael C. died a few months ago.

i kind of hope not. we need a new dinosaur franchise.

Crichton died? Wow, I didn't even hear about that. That's too bad, I really liked his stuff. The JP novels and Andromeda strain were all very good.

However, I don't really see how his death effects the movies. The first two were only loose adaptations, and the third was made up entirely. Unless it's some sort of legal issue, I can't really see his death having that big of an impact. They were basically doing their own thing with the movies anyways.

Michael played a huge part in the first two movies. I don't know what role he played in the third, but as far as the first two go, he was definitely more than just the author of the book they used.

well as i said the producers thought it wouldnt be right to do another one since the creator of the series is gone now. So we are likely not going to see a jp4 for maybe another 5 or so years to give a good time since his passing so they can think about things better. Though i personally would love to see a 4th one as long as the story is good and they have good characters(new and any returning members).

Unless you're talking about work in the production of the movie itself (which is very possible, I know he's done stuff like that before) M.C.'s novels were both very different from the first two J.P. movies produced. In some cases, characters were drastically altered (John Hammond anyone?), and plots added (Grant's relationship with Ellie and his aversion towards children).

And then, as Chaseter said, the second movie is extremely different from the book.

Both movies were very different from the book, so I don't see how he was that important to their actual production unless he helped personally with it (and as I said, he very well could have.)

I would be very surprised if he had much input on JP3, because it just wasn't very good. But to be honest, I haven't really liked the movies since the first one.

didn't Cricton write co write the story/screenplay for the first JURASIC PARK?

I remember there being an awesome raptor mortocycle chase in the second book that was scaraped for a 12 year old kicking a raptor's butt,.

I think there was a bunch a stuff different from the book and the movie. Didn't two T-Rex's attack them while they were in the vehicles? I also believe they said Ian Malcom died in the first?

I remember he "dies" in the first one. He has massive blood loss from being bit in the leg and he stops breathing from what I remember. But in the second one, they briefly say that he had a miracle operation or something that saved him.

I really don't want another, the first three were perfectly fine and fantastic films.....

I would like to see another film if they have the right story and director. Jurassic Park 3 was a bit of a let down.

well thats good, though i doubt we will see another jp movie for another few yrs.

A place for everyone to discuss the (possibly) upcoming trilogy.

I havn't found a Jurassic Park thread, so I thought I'd reopen this. :)

Well Joe Johnson said Jurassic Park 4 would spawn a new trilogy, so I"m game. Thank god it would not a reboot!

Massive JP fan here, been one all my life. The original movie is still one of my all-time favorites, in my top three. I enjoy both of the sequels but neither has touched the original to me. Hopefully JP4 will turn out good if it ever gets made.
