Justice League of America has Been Delayed!

This girl is sad. Really this whole thing is sad they need to just do the smart thing and put JL on hold.

Has this film been cast yet, or do they have actors they're considering. I'd like to see the LIST of actor, please. If one would be so kind?

Some rumors say the film has been cast and others are saying some roles like superman and possibly wonderman have been some issues. Nothing is really known.

Movies will get cancelled or put on hold whether the production crew knows it or not or is working on it.

Look at the Fountain. Production had to be stopped twice, second time when it was right about to shoot and sets were being built, but Brad Pitt bailed and that killed the whole project for a while before Jackman and Weisz came on. A production worker even mailed an angry letter to Brad Pitt for putting everyone out of work that was published on AICN.

An actor fluke is different from a building Studio pressure decision. It'd be foolish if the people working on the movies were talking about are at least as interested in their well being as we are. It is their living after all.

Give the fans the Green Lantern story they deserve with Hal Jordan.

This is 100% foolishness, and if I deserve a Hal Jordan story, then be merciful and just shoot me in the forehead instead.

Heres what emi has to say about robert's news on jla delayed:
I think Emi is right. A lot of people give her crap, but she always said Nov. 18th, and other sites were saying that too. Even the guy who knows Palmer was told by Palmer the 18th of Nov. Scott Porter at WizardCon confirmed that weekend as he said the Non-disclosure clauses the actors had to sign went up on the 18th of Nov, or at the end of that weekend. She was also the one saying Miller first for director. I think the film is still on track.

You think? Sounds more like you hope.

See this last post makes more sense. WB has not offical said a word yet becasue the cast was not yet 100% signed. Plus, it sounds like the roles of Superman was one of the one left hanging and you can't go to press withhout that one being filled, Aquaman maybe, but SUPES no way! I do think it's the casting that has casused most of the trouble with us getting the correct information and here in a few days that should all be settled.

So that leaves us back to the big question of "If" roles such as Superman where filled in the mid night hour....should this flim be done at all? Am not sure right now and I would just like some truth from the WB camp about what's going on.

What's the freaking rush? This movie does not need to be made right now.

If the cast isn't there, and the movie isn't there, it's ridiculous to spend $300 million on this movie, and everyone should know it.

That's what I don't get, why is now the time to do a Justice League film? What's wrong with 5 years down the track? If the film is becoming nothing but trouble, WB should just cut their losses and focus on other projects.

Why even five years? Why not 2-3 years?

Why does it have to be right now if it's NOT working? Why not wait until the strike is over so writers can polish the script?

The reason C and D listers are only being looked at for things like Batman and Superman (and by that I mean QUALITY of actors not unknowns) is because the better acting talent does not want to touch Batman or Superman. I would not want to be in the shoes of whoever attempts at being Batman the same time as Christian Bale.

I hope this news is true. The project sounds quite awful as is. WB should just make a flash movie and reboot Superman, so I can finally have a good Superman movie.

I feels sorry for the poor bastard who may play Batman.

Meh. With all the B.S. news we've gotten, we should I believe this one either.

This Christian Bale is the best thing ever thing is incredibly stupid to me. I might be in the minority on this one but the Batman movie I would have liked to see wouldn't have been staring him. To tell you the truth I didn't think he was that great in the movie, then again I didn't think the movie was all that great. I liked the movie and I liked him in the movie but I perfer his performance in the Presteige and I much perfer to watch the prestiege. But to his/her own.

I agree, while he is good, he is not the only one that can play Batman.
I'm sorry, but he just isnt.

The majority of moviegoers would disagree. That's the point.

I'd take a Flash or Green Lantern movie over this one anyday. I hope this one crash and burns soon, just like that idea for Superman vs Batman years ago. that had a director and script too and I think casting went on for that.....I'm crossing my fingers this movie ends up like that.

This is probably good news, if it's true. I think WB should take a closer look at the process behind how they launch their blockbuster film projects...in order to avoid blunders like this one (potentially), Superman Returns, Wonder Woman, and so on.

I heard the Wonderwoman script was good...It was on Latin Review. They gave it a A. I wonder why they never did that movie

Well it looks like it's the same thing here. Casting was looking terrible for that one as well Jude Law as Superman (ugh) and Colin Farrell as Batman (double UGH). So glad that didn't happen.

My suggestion:

-Wait and see how Dark Knight does.

-Wait and see how Shazam does.

-Build Flash and Green Lantern and go from there.

I for one see no reason why this has to kill a JL movie for good. Just give the project THE TIME IT DESERVES. Make sure you get the right actors, and yes INCLUDING CHRISTIAN BALE! Let Bale and Nolan finish, and then do JL. This is NOT rocket science.

Why? If Dark Knight takes off huge and you get Bale in JL, well that's one big hurdle JL already crossed and puts a huge feather in the cap of JL. Why would you not want a really badass, awesome feather in the cap of movie that will already be ridiculously expensive?

Also....another reason to wait would be, once or IF the Batman franchise starts to go down in Box office, this would be another way to revieve the Bat Franchise many years from now too....same with Superman.

A bit of an update...

My source spoke to someone else and let me assure you, it's no "mole". This is copied from my email...

In response to being asked what the situation is and how it affects the 2009 schedule he said, "...even if the production date gets pushed back into April, they still plan for a mid-summer 2009 release. If it were cancelled altogether, there would be no tentpole for WB that summer. Mr. Horn is not about to let that happen in my opinion, nor would Mr. Robinov in his new position."

On the topic of casting he said, "That is a subject I'd rather not get into. Things were a roller coaster ride regarding casting, but seem to have settled to my knowledge. I don't want to jinx anything by giving names or put my ass in the hot seat. There have been enough problems already."

So now, what exactly does he mean by a "roller coaster ride" and why specifically mention April?? I'm thinking some people know what is really happening and some might still be in the dark.

And to answer your question Fenice, there have been rumors that Nolan and Bale have threatened to opt out of the 3rd film in their contracts if the JLA has any remote connection to the story in Batman Begins. Meaning Ras Al Ghul. To my knowledge, provided the script info many seem to have is fully accurate, the basis for the film is revenge against Batman for killing Ras Al Ghul. Nolan and Bale are supposedly highly against this and not happy at all. I can't say that it's true, but they didn't have many nice things to say when asked in an interview last summer.
WB already has a tentpole for Summer '09, the new Terminator movie, but they usually have two blockbusters in the summer.

Bah. I really hope I get something else then just solo-movies for the next years. Oh sooo boring. Every year we get 3-5 superheromovies, this year we will get at least 5 (TDK, Ironman, Hancock, Hulk, Hellboy II). Enought already, give me JL and Avengers. Or som crossover.

How utterly boring it is to just want solo-movies for the next years. It's like only doing the missionary position in bed. I hope JL is still on. :)
