Though it's okay for other black youths to refer to others like this without reprisal? I know of no other word that is literally owned by a race or ethnicity that will get you physically attacked for using it. There is a touch of irony in that.

And any head trauma is a serious thing. If he gave this kid a concussion he has in fact done serious damage. You dont have to "slit someones throat" to cause severe damage. Fists are just as dangerous as a knife when used carelessly and in a rage. Many a people have been put in a coma or had permanent damage from a beating. This kid could have had preexisting conditions for all Kanye knew, and if he had had pre existing conditions the blows could have killed him. So yes what Kanye did was very serious and very dangerous.

Yeah I absolutely hate teenagers as well. Their attitude that they know everything but actually know extremely little is a toxic one. I just get soo upset because I know kids like this have probably done this **** for years to celebrities and they have all taken the high road. I like unlawful justice every once in a while. So? If the dude wasn't talking **** this all wouldn't have happened in the first place. I remember reading an article on here once about a disgruntled white guy who got fired from his job, got onto a bus and started saying racial slurs to a black guy. The black guy knocked him out and everyone in that thread applauded this guy for standing up to racism. I think you're all up in arms about this because it's Kanye West and most of you don't even like him. And as for all of you with the stance of "ohhh people say stuff to me all the time and I brush it off" just stop. Just because some of you are afraid of confrontation or have the composure to just let it slide, doesn't mean other people are like that. Fact is, if someone is going to curse you out, let alone yell racial slurs at you or a loved one, they shouldn't be surprised if someone stands up to them.

If blacks stop using the N-word it won't magically disappear. Not even close. We might as well use it for our own purpose.

When two black people call each other the N-word it's a reminder that they share the same struggle. The same way two gays call each other a gay slur.

And in others, if a woman cheats or there is a gay/lesbian couple, they are killed because it is the "honorable" thing to do. I never gave much thought to those feelings, honor and respect. I just go by my moral code, I treat people how I would like to be treated.
