Comics Keep the Mask on Supporters Only!!

Tony sold out a long time ago too

but he was kinda sold out from the begining

Joe Q is an idiot. Read this article:

Here are my favorite exerts:

Joe Q said:
I think the evidence of this was seen in the latest issue of Amazing. Peter brought his family in on the decision. Remember, the status quo has changed for Peter, not only is he more secure in life, but Aunt May knows he’s Spider-Man as well. Isn’t it cool how we keep moving him forward through life. I can’t wait until this same time next year, I bet Peter will be virtually unrecognizable from the character that he use to be!

That isn't a good thing, moron.

Here's his response about losing readers because of this:

Joe Q said:
No, I can’t live my life like that. If we were putting out a horrible product I would, but there’s so much more to Civil War than just the Spider-Man reveal and there’s so much more coming up, that I just can’t wait for the hate mail [laughs].

I've never disliked a complete stranger this much...well, aside from terrorists.

I get it. It logically makes sense. Peter got super powers. His life got good. Good for him. Story over. Happy Ending. Don't care about the character anymore.

"Remember, one of the reasons we loved the idea for Civil War so much was because of its accessibility to the mainstream and it’s an easy sound bite for news outlets to wrap their heads around."

Another quote that makes me glad I dropped Marvel

Hey brain dead....I don't friggin' recognize him now!!!......how much more unrecognizable are you going for?...Breasts?, weakness to kryptonite?....cool shiny ring of power?.....sonic blasts from the eyes?

It's official...(as if it weren't official before)...no Spidey titles till this cancer is gone!!...I don't care what they retcon!

Same here. Sensational was all I had, and this ends it. I will no longer be reading any 616 titles. Way to go, Marvel! You got a million strangers to go into comic shops and buy copies of Civil War #2 so that they could sell them off on ebay a week later and never set foot in another comic shop again, and all it cost you was half of your readership!

Will someone PLEASE get rid of Joe Q, now?!

good lord, Quesada talks about Spidey being unrecognizable as if it was a good thing... it can only mean one thing: there's more coming. now I'm not only pissed, I'm afraid.

Be Afraid...be very afraid!!

About your sig.....I know Black is saying he's interested in the Green Lantern movie if it comes to pass (crosses fingers).....but I assuimed it was for the part of a villain...please don't tell me they're considering Black for the part of Hal Jordan himself?

as far as I know, he was in the running to star in the movie. don't think it was for the villain...

Axel Alonso: This was Peter’s show of commitment to the cause. And a show of solidarity with his current mentor, Tony Stark. Peter went above and beyond the requirements of the Superhero Registration Act when he ousted himself to the world.

Alright.... Mentor? MENTOR?!?!?!?! o_O AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

I'm not finished with the whole Interview but I just had to let that out.

I'm finding myself becoming somethign far worse than afraid or angry....

...I'm becoming indifferent.

Over the past few years, Marvel has done NOTHING right in the world of Spider-Man. They're RUINED Gwen Stacy, they've RUINED Spider-Man's origin, they've KILLED and RESURRECTED Spider-Man, they've made him the LEAST effective Avenger in HISTORY, and now, they've made sure that no one can ever write a "Peter Parker Story" again. That's not including the organic webshooters, the terrible costume, the subservient attitude Peter has taken as of late....

You can only cut someone in the same spot so many times before the scar tissue forms and they have a little more resistance to it. Each time after that, the blade must be sharper, stronger, and cut deeper. That's what Marvel has done.

They keep cutting us in the same place, and we keep letting them.

A few years ago, I was happily reading ASM and PP:SM. You couldn't have convinced me that, sometime in just a few short years, there would be three Spider-Man books, and I wouldn't WANT to read any of them. Now, that is the case.

This is the end of my Spidey collecting days. I'll only be reading Spider-Girl and Ultimate Spider-Man after this, and I'm not looking back until Jpe Q and JMS are long gone.

Joey Q may have tipped his hand - Possible Spoiler Warning:

I woke up this morning thinking that the only way out of this without some idiotic retcon is plastic surgery and a new identity for Peter.

In this situation no one would know what he looks like, and it's a clean start for him in an everyman environment. Mary Jane couldn't be with him or that would blow the new ID. Unless she did the same... I dunno. Just a theory.

Great....first CINO (Catwoman In Name Only), now GLINO (Green Lantern In Name Only).

I see the Haturz League may be reunited....

The AzBats thing wasnt done for shock value. Once ayear the Bat writers would get together to discuss their big plans and all the time someone would say "Lets kill off Bruce Wayne." So they decided to write a story showcasing why Bruce Wayne is Batman and no one can replace him.

I stand corrected, Roach. At least DC had a plan when they replaced Batman, as opposed to Quesada's bunch of flunkies. Seems like their attitude is: "Let's try a see if this piece of crap can stick to the wall and lets ride it out for awhile before we fix it. Course we're not exactly sure HOW will fix it because we don't want to do anything like a mindwipe. That would be a real cheat."

One Year Later...

Joe Quesada: "You know. This isn't what Spider-Man is supposed to be. He kind of lost what made him popular in the first place when we revealed his identity. I know! Let's have Doctor Strange mindwipe the knowledge that Peter Parker is Spider-Man from everybody on the planet. What do you think guys?

J. Michael Straczynski: Great idea boss! (proceeds to lean over and kiss Joe Q's fat ass once again.

Hah. Stick to the wall :D

If any of you want further proof that the unmasking of Spider-Man is a bad a idea, Joe Quesada is ALREADY trying to pass the buck:

Joe Quesada said:
About a month ago, during one of those infamous 50-email-long creative chains, I asked the question, 'whose idea was it to unmask Peter?' The reason I was asking was because I had forgotten. This happens often, to all of us, because so much stuff gets thrown around at these summits that you just can’t keep track of who said what, you just know it was said. To this day, while I have this vision of Mark first saying the words Civil War, there might be an argument that it came from Bendis or Straczynski or Loeb, it’s like the chicken and the egg.

Anyway, when I asked the question, everyone pointed at me and said that it was originally my idea. For the life of me, I remember liking the idea, but I don’t remember instigating it. Perhaps that’s why I liked it so much [laughs]. Truth be told, Tom Brevoort is laying claim to being the first one to mention it, so I place this all squarely on his shoulders.

So, which one is lying here: Mark Millar who says it was Quesada's idea, or Quesada to says it was everyone else except him. Way to live up to the creed "With great power comes greater responsibility."

let us always remember that the opposite of love is not hate, but indifference.

And I have become very indifferent.

What a fat piece of crap.

I've finally come to the decision that we should form a SSH Task Force Unit out of the most capable board members and take over Marvel Headquarters. This mutilation of one of Marvel's most recognizable character and history can't go on any further.

Nathan's avatar is more interesting than Spider-Man now.

I've been preparing for a while... at least now we can begin a preemptive strike and make enough noise BEFORE they f**k it up... not that they'd ever listen to reason.

to be fair, would anyone in their right mind want to accept responsibility for this s#!t?
