Kevin Smith Confronts Joel Siegel

No, I just wait for the DVD. The sofa in my apartment is more comfortable than any chair in a theater and I have my beer fridge

Exactly what dish can't Smith take? He didn't give a crap that Siegel walked out. He only wanted him to admit that the manner in which he left was unprofessional, which Siegel refused to do.

Siegel is a critic, not just some random Saturday-movie-goer. He knows better, and it was unprofessional. He refused to admit that and acted as though the problem was just that he walked out when it was made very clear that act wasn't the problem. Smith simply called him on it, and continued to when Siegel refused to admit what he did was inappropriate.

No, Siegel said that if that ever happens again for him, he should just walk out and not say anything.

When I went to see Superman Returns, there were all these teenage girls sitting in front of us that wouldn't shut the hell up. I finally got fed up with it after they talked their way through the first ten minutes of the film and said "If you girls don't be quiet during this movie I am going to fart on all of you, I swear to God!". They didn't say another word during the rest of the movie after everyone else in the audience stopped laughing at them.

Thats odd but tasty.

Did you even listen to the interview? Did you not hear hear Siegel respond like a toddler when told he was unprofessional, with "Nananana"? He only said he wouldn't comment out loud in the future because he was reemed for it for a half-hour.

No one, including Smith, has tried to make it sound like he ranted for several minutes. Disruption is disruption. That's fine if you don't mind, but most people do.

Smith was proud he walked out, he called it a badge of honor.

You, like Siegel, keep dancing around the point so you don't look wrong, when in fact you are. THE POINT IS Siegel refused to admit his actions were wrong, when in fact they were. The interview would have been over in five minutes if he'd said from the beginning "I should have just left and kept my comments to myself" instead of trying to defend his position.

*sigh*
I give up, I don't give a flying **** about this movie anyway.

jag, you're my freakin' hero!

I guess they believed I'd do it. They were right. I farted during the part where the kid shoves the piano across the room on the yacht. The girls weren't talking. I felt bad. Sort of. :(

Did you waft it in their direction as a reminder warning?

I listened to the interview. Smith is over sensitive.

Did he have the right to yell and cause a big scene while the other critics were watching it? He gets paid to watch ****ing movies. He said that he didn't walk out of Bachelor Party which delt with the stuff that offended him.

I haven't watched the video and I agree that unnecessary confrontations aren't professional.

I agree with Addendum, if you want to leave then shut the **** up! It was a screening for critics how ****ing embarassing that a bunch of them are going to make fun of him for being a mostache *****e.
Plus no one has an issue with him walking out. I have a mother ****ing issue with him walking out. He gets PAID to watch movies and write his thoughts on them. He walked out of a ****ing movie. If he wants to voice his ompliants then write 'em in your forum and tell us on TV don't be a ****ing ***** and walk out of the flick causing a scene like a child.
He didn't walk out of Bachelor party which delt with the same subject matter. Why? Because he wouldn't dare do that to Tom Hanks.
Oh at the end of the interview when they thank him for not *****ng out he says "What ever that means." what a ****ing clown shoe.

Tom Hanks wasnt even a big start when Bachelor Party came out, so that analogy doesnt make sense.

You know what doesn't make any sense? Walking out of a movie (also your job) and yelling like a child to disturb the other viewers.
That doesn't make sense.

LOL...

I never thought of Kevin Smith as a bastion and defender of "professionalism".
Think he just had hiws feewings huwt.:(

WARNING: POINTLESS POST BELOW. READ AT YOUR DISCRETION:

as an aspiring filmmaker (made one underwhelming but stupidly fun movie and in the middle of making the next amateur one), i would be a little mad if and when I make a real hollywood movie, someone walked out period.

but besides the point, if i'm screening something for critics, people who have some sort of influence on the general public to see or not see the movie, i'd be a little mad as well if one person pulled a stunt like that.

and not to jump on/start a bandwagon here, but joel siegel blows. Should I make a movie which the general public likes, I wouldn't screen it for him. I don't think I'd want one of his puns staining my movie.
