He's not a real director? That's odd, because I see him listed on imdb for several massively successful projects.

I doon't understand how people say that the content in Smith's movies are childish and offesive but walking out of a movie and causing a big scene and cursing is "bold."

If some other critic happened to satnd up and applaud after a scene, NO ONE, including Smith, would say a word. However, it is simple curtesy to not make any noise during a movie.

It was a short 2 sentence statement. Let's not make this out like he stood in the front of the theater and went on a 5 minute rant. He made 2 little remarks while leaving the theater. Was he wrong? Yes. However, Smith and most of you are blowing this way out of proportion.

I have been in numerous horror films where people have stood up and said very similiar things as they were leaving. No bid deal. In fact it was funny.

Kevin Smith should actually be proud that his film made Siegel lose a bit of control and was the only film that he walked out of in 30 years.

Yes. You're entitled to walk out of a movie. I have wanted to. But you don't yell profanities to distract others from enjoying the movie when you do. If you're a movie critic (paid to watch and REVIEW movies) then wait til you do your official review to b**ch about the movie.

or he could have done what Leonard Maltin did one time. Maltin reviewed a certain movie, I couldn't find the name anywhere although I'm certain the movie title had the state Pennsylvania in its title, where Maltin sang the theme song to the movie while it was playing and at the end of the theme song, he ended his review with the word, "sucks".

Joel Seigel has been quite ill in recent months -- I think he had chemotherapy or something like that. It was mentioned several times on Good Morning America, and Joel seemed "out of it" on a couple recent appearances there.

My point of bringing this up is that, A.) Seigel's behavior at the screening might be a result of these health problems (in addition to not liking the film), and B.) Kevin Smith "owning" a sick, befuddled critic isn't really that big of an accomplishment.

And as far as Smith goes, I got tired of his writing and directorial style from Chasing Amy onward.
