No, Jon Peters didSFII said:lol Kevin Smith wanted to put Polar Bears and a Giant Spider in his version of Superman ??? LOL! thank god he didn't get the assignment!

yeah this has nothing to do with kevin smith hating this film...he just hates tim burton...everyone should watch the interview he gave about working on superman...thats where this little spoof comes from....smith is a huge comic book guyPSU442 said:ha... it really doesn't sound like he was taking a cheap shot at the movie... no more than the Simpsons did with their teaser. Just making a joke (as he often does) about his Burton/Peters fiasco. Never-the-less, does anybody else hate Clerks? I do. Mall-Rats was okay. Everything else of Smith's is garbage. I don't want to say I hate him but... i think i lean that way.
i agree with you...check your facts...i think you just wanted to start a thread that would last and cause a stirromeogbs19 said:Dude -- next time you post something like this, at least check the facts first. Smith isn't making fun of SR at all in that clip -- he's making fun of the original Jon Peters script which included polar bears and well, if Peters had his way, a giant spider (or as Smith called it, a Thangarian Snare-beast). Just head on over to YouTube and search for "Kevin Smith" and "Superman" -- you'll see it there.
The comic book audience had some issues with SR, but overall I think you're not going to hear too much complaining from anyone -- Singer is a formidable director, and while some of us would have preferred a Raimi or a Ratner, I think we can agree that Singer is the best thing that could have happened to our favorite superhero franchise!
danoyse said:Oy...he wasn't making fun of SR. The commercials to 'Clerks 2' make fun of Lord of the Rings. I don't see that included in the Fox story.
He was making fun of the Jon Peters story about when took a turn writing Superman--as the fanboys' (which is Smith's main audience--how come you guys aren't picking up on this?) target audience would know.
Relax, it's just Fox trying to spin stuff. What a surprise.
