Kick Ass 2 announcement coming soon - Part 1

It was great that they kept the same score for the sequel, it really adds a lot when you hear that familiar music again.

It is something that has been really missed in the X-Men movie, the Blade movies and the Iron Man movies. Sitting in the cinema and that familiar music comes on is part of the charm of seeing a sequel.

Definitely. I got a big smile on my face when I heard that Kick-Ass theme. The 8-bit version during one of the logos was a nice touch too.

^Same here, it got me into the movie straight away, which was a big factor in me enjoying it so much. It was used really well in the movie as well.

me too I get so pumped hearing these themes:

main titles
[YT]rPyaj5Ehcm8[/YT]

final scene

Agred. As soon as I heard the theme, I was in the movie. The score was a great as in the 1st movie.

The soundtrack may not have been quite as good, but the score is still very effective. Especially in the first scene, when they reuse the 28 Days Later theme when Leguizamo dies and of course the reuse of "Fly Away" at the end when Hit-Girl leaves.

Great stuff.

Speaking of the score, look what came in the mail yesterday, autographed and everything!

The difference is Saw films, at least in their heyday, opened to around $30+ million (one of them I think even brushed $50 million) a film and cost like $5-$10 million each. This cost $30 million and opened at $13 million.

It will make a profit. But enough to encourage another $30 million budget? Even $20 million? I dunno about that.

But yes, I would love one more if they could somehow financially make it work. And I agree that this is the direction it will go in. She will be 17-19 by the next time the next one is made (if ever). But I doubt that it is going to happen.

Well, I was thinking, they should maybe do a third and have select cities have a Kick Ass marathon, since those things do well. I never got to see the first Kick Ass in the theater, and I would love the opportunity to do so. A trilogy marathon would work wonders.

Ouch, Kick-Ass 2 fell 78% from last friday. Seems like the franchise is dead.

The dumbest part of the movie wasn't the vomiting stuff or the Union J stuff (that song is oddly catchy). It was saying hit-girl is under 5 feet during the scene where Marcus is listening to the report. Chloe is about 5'2 and she looks taller than that as hit-girl. Plus, the average height for an American female is 5'4 and a half. Saying she's under 5 feet just made me cringe. She's fifteen now, not eleven.

Definitely, they used the score really well in the movie and it brought the nostalgia factor to a lot of scenes.

They guessed her height when they saw her running away from the crime scene, they had no way of knowing her exact height. They got close which is what happens when you're eyeballing someones height.

still. It really bugged me. She looks even taller as hit-girl. They said she was under five feet for the sake of making that scene funny.

And yet it's the second most talked about movie on the internet and Chloe is the most talked about actor right now. I'm really confused by this.

Yea, I doubt it's the second most talked about movie on the internet. I will say I really don't agree with the critics on this one. Again it was nowhere near as good as the first one, had nowhere near the heart, but it was still ok for a one time watch. I doubt we will get a third one though. Even though a lower budget meaning less action scenes and more character development is exactly what this series needs.

Its a movie called KICK ASS, lots of action is not only necessary, but its the main appeal for audiences.

Based on what? And as much as I enjoyed the first Kick-Ass, and tolerate Kick-Ass 2 as an acceptable (if disappointing) follow-up, both of which had a lot of Internet hype before release. And Internet hype also would lead one to believe that Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Snakes on a Plane, Hulk '03 and an R-rated Aliens vs. Predator movie would be hits...it doesn't quite pan out that way.

This is an example of "fan" culture and mainstream culture not agreeing, and as fan culture rules the Internet...inversely it is why World War Z can be a hit despite years of Internet whining and trashing, Michael Bay still gets to make movies and The Dark Knight Rises was well received, despite what comic readers think.

With that said, I still am delusional enough to mildly hope for a third. It will only happen if Matthew Vaughn is determined to see it exist, and there is a significant budget cut. Neither of which I see happening. But hey, I will be happily surprised if it impossibly does happen.

The BO performance is really disappointing, even the international numbers dont really look to be any saving grace. I thought this might gross more overseas than the 1st movie did.

I just hope we somehow get a 3rd movie and some closure for these characters. The 2nd movie progressed things really well and I would like to see were a 3rd movie would go.

So did Night ***** get raped or not, was a point of contention between my friend and me.

I dont think she did

^I thought the scene implied pretty heavily that she did, TMF was trying to get hard to do so, and then he told the other guy to hurt her, with some of the sadistic things he did in the movie, I am pretty sure rape was one of the things he meant when he said hurt her.
