Kinect and it's effects on the WORLD.

After what i saw in Jimmy Fallon, i can say right now, starting next week, with all the Natal madness, the 360 sells will go through the roof.
And the more closer we are for to launch, if it is everything the ads say it will, Nintendo will have true competition on their hands.

I was expecting Fallon to scream: BUY AN XBOX 360...NOW!!

Meh, that first one on Fallon late night thing just looked like a Wii Sprorts/Wii Play title to me. It looks fun at first, but five minutes later it starts getting extremely slate. The Burnout thing looked like playing Mario Kart Wii with the wheel, which I never cared for

I like the idea of my body being the controller. No more peripherals, just some roll on deodorant and plenty of space between me and breakable objects. My first idea for a cool application of Natal would be a Avatar:The Last Airbender game. Controlling the elements like a real bending master instead of using joysticks and buttons.

i know it's only a beta build, but the response looks terribly frustrating. if there were a controller, i would have flung it in frustration in 5 minutes. Instead, i'd just turn Natal off and play it with a controller.

pricing will be key, which is something thats not really talked about. We wont know for some time but I wonder where they will go with this considering the ridiculous pricing on some of their other accessories

Best I heard, they were talking $100 for the Natal. Twice the cost of a controller.

The price point would have to be on the games. They'd need some casual first party titles or multi-in-ones to make people feel like they're getting a deal. With a launch at least vaguely comparable to a console launch, consumers might get the feeling that there's potential in the new hardware and make the 200 investment worth it. If they back it up with 2-3 "hardcore" games involving the Natal, like a Milo or an Avatar Airbender Game (not a chance in hell THQ will give the license that much attention) or a Fight Night, and 5-10 Natal-enhanced hardcore titles, they may even bring their core demographic into the fold, minus the guys who boycott it on principle.

Alternately, they could go kiddie with it, and just have their core demo get it for their kids.

But they'll almost assuredly need to get some 40-50 buck casual launch titles to make it seem "worth it."

See?! I'm not the only one who saw the potential for new Avatar game with Natal, GL1 knows.

Milo a.k.a. Skynet
That´s hilarious, especially Nintendo as the salvation.
LOL :D
Congrats!

Haha thanks! I'm glad you liked the ending ;)

If you would post that comment on youtube, if you have an account, that would be great. Get the ball rolling haha.

But MS is wanting us to talk to non-existent young boys...

When is Natal out?

In UK?

Thks

There's been no dating on it. Basically it's kind of a 'done when it's done' kind of thing, but I keep hearing the prediction of late '10

Damn..long time! OK thanks.

I don't know, just going by what's been said and I'm pretty sure the late 2010 is a prediction only. As far as I know MS hasn't put any dates on it in anyway.

I've got to agree with this, especially after that ABC clip. I don't think I'd last long before I started pulling my hair out.

They need to work on the 1:1 response. So far, Natal is pretty good at tracking depth and motions, but if there's a delay between what's seen on screen and the physical commands....that's gonna be a huge detriment.

yeah thats the only thing that turns me off...

you have to predict your moves ahead of time to do anything right.
and imagine someone as fast as jet li or something playing the game

honestly, having watched all the E3 presentations, the sony motion sensor and the wii have the best and most practical uses imo. Natal is cool in concept, but I don't think it will really add much to the gameplay and will end up being a complete gimmick. haha, the e3 vid for Natal is hilarious, and clearly just what they hope to achieve, but I doubt they'll be able to do that any time soon. And it's also ****ing dumb. The whole part with the chicks talking about some party is hilarious.

oh and the pits thing for car racing? How frustrating would it be if it didnt' recognize all your movements. Or you just didnt move JUST enough to pick up the tires. Cool concepts, but I doubt there's much practical application.
